Was also on the 1956 Olympic team along with Charles Darling, but only played in two games. I would have to think he was hurt, because they beat their opponents by an average of 53 points/game.

Thanks for sharing. Even well before my time, but clearly one of the best to ever wear a Hawkeye uniform.
Carl Cain is remembered well by long-time University of Iowa fans. I recall attending many basketball in the old Iowa Fieldhouse, games featuring the hawkeyes' Fabulous Five. Carl Cain was a principal player on those teams; a great rebounder and leaper, a defensive standout, and a great scorer. Carl Cain remains forever young in memory, may God rest.
