there is a popular sports radio station here in DFW (The Ticket 1310) and one of their morning hosts has a son who was a long snapper at UNT and tried for years to stick in the NFL. I happened to catch a show a few months back where they went into great detail about the oddity of the long snapper position and career. They even talked about Krieter. The big takeaway for me was how patient these guys have to be, and how they have to also stay on the radar screen with teams as well as in good shape - not that all fringe NFL guys dont have to do that but with the LS they tend to have fairly long careers and that there just arent very many openings as teams dont typically like to swap out this role very often. Anyway, sort of a "CSB" but thought the long snapper was an underappreciated position.
