Cause you cant cheat silly.

Not a single one of you knows if the elections are secure. Quit acting like you do.
I know that multiple attempts to find voter fraud have come up empty.
And that voting records are permanent records, available publicly to anyone.

So, yes, I do know that our elections are quite secure at this point. No one has brought any physical evidence to light to prove otherwise.

Basically the French system, and they somehow manage to announce the results without waiting for days or weeks to figure it out.

Touch screen machines registering votes is just absurd to me.
Scantron, so you have a paper record, but machine readable so you can tabulate (and re-tabulate) rapidly.
It's all I've ever dealt with in the counties I've voted in FL, don't understand how any other system is preferable, especially one that leaves no real record of the votes cast.
Paper records of all cast votes are absolutely necessary.

Because that allows for scanned recounts or hand-counts.
Any machine that allows you to vote via touchscreen should provide you a printout of your votes, which you deposit into the actual voting box. You review your paper copy before you actually "cast" it.

Voting machines can report their counts electronically, but the hand-cast, printed ballots are what become "official" for recounts.

America has 5x the population of France

I don’t think I’ve ever said mass voter fraud has even existed. I’m stating it would be pretty easy for fraud to happen and probably has happened with the current situation.
Im suggesting that we could prevent a lot of those issues but a certain group of people choose not to use that system.
I don’t understand why a legal living American that is eligible to vote isn’t required to prove that in person.
Hell if I go to the doctor I have to verify my date of birth to a million of people before being seen by a doctor.
So you don't believe mass voter fraud occurred, yet you want to create an additional barrier to make it even more impossible?

Are you in favor of providing free identification credentials? In my state that's about $30/each multiplied by 39 million people.

Maybe we should all get barcodes tattooed to our foreheads, or even chips implanted at birth. Would that suffice???

so you are saying there is a chance it has a flaw. It shouldn’t be impossible because every one should be able to show proof they are a legal living American allowed to vote.
Of course there’s a chance, there are humans involved so it can’t be foolproof.

Again…SHOW YOUR WORK. You keep alleging fraud happens often, because it’s easy to do. Please explain why our existing safeguards, with variations based on the state, are not currently sufficient.

Again, this requires you providing an example of where a vote was counted, and was not caught by the existing process.

How do you know it is secure? Have you personally gone through every vote and verified that it was from a legal living person that had the right to vote?
It’s not a waste of my time to go and vote in person every 4 years and proudly show proof of who I am and that I am legally registered to vote at the voting location I go to vote at.

Let’s say you have some medical issues. Who do you trust more, the doctor that took all of his or her tests in person or the person that says they took the tests online but never once had to show their face or prove they were who they said they were.
Funny you mention medical issues.....

But that is a wall painter problem.
I just need 5x the staff to process the votes, but I don't need a different process.

Career in IT has me thinking machine readable paper ballots are the way to go,
