Rep. Madison Cawthorn’s (R-N.C.) Instagram presence is at the center of a new attack ad by one of the freshman congressman’s primary challengers, state Sen. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.).
“They call it Instagram famous, famous for what they post online. They show us their workout, what they eat, and where they go,” Edwards says as he scrolls down Cawthorn’s curated picture feed. “But while they post online, America falls apart.”

Edwards does not mention Cawthorn’s name.
“I’ll take the fight to Congress and leave social media for the other guys,” Edwards says.
While Cawthorn, the youngest lawmaker in Congress, is often in the news for his comments on Twitter, he has a larger following on Instagram, which he regularly uses to repost clips from conservative networks or footage of himself in Congress.
Edwards is just one of the seven Republicans whom Cawthorn will face in the GOP primary — a reelection effort that’s proving to be challenging for the incumbent after he lost the support of establishment Republicans in the state following his allegations that older GOP lawmakers in Washington had invited him to an “orgy.” The state’s two Republican senators have turned their backs on him, with retiring Sen. Richard Burr calling him “an embarrassment.”
Still, Cawthorn has former president Donald Trump’s endorsement in the race. The primary is May 17.

Cawthorn needs primaried...if the GOP was smart (not saying they are) they would support someone other than Madison. Rules be damned.
