We tried it your way and the lefts immigration nightmare was an unmitigated disaster, now the adults are back in charge.
It wasn't a nightmare. Border patrol was very good at intercepting those crossing illegally.

I didn’t say we should let everyone in. I was just responding to Northern’s question about why is she here on the border and the general, callous tone from many in this thread.Of course it’s easy to feel for her. It’s easy to feel for all migrants just looking for a shot at a better life. But, we’ve also got roughly 700,000 homeless Americans in this country who could certainly use more aid than what’s frequently available. A lot more. How do we go about seeing to their most urgent needs?
i agree I am starting to drive by job sites with people laying shingles to see what I can spot.Already dropped a dime on the boys who wash my equipment. It sucks because they did a right fair job for less than minimum wage, but laws are laws and we now have a new [sheriff] in town!!
20 million overstayed their Visa's? is that what you're trying to sell? Most "illegals" are people who simply overstayed a Visa. They were not "let in"
And often, they were trying to get their visas renewed, applying for full citizenship…but the process takes too long and their visas expired while they waited. Most "illegals" are people who simply overstayed a Visa. They were not "let in"
Do you think you have an interesting point or something? Why is she on our border?

The US far and away has the most economic opportunity. Why not go for the US if you have a shot at it?
No. She's probably like most migrants that want to work. They don't come to America to subsist on handouts for years. They want jobs and money.Like taxpayer funded handouts?
"Feel good?" lol We run the country on what "feels good" now? 🤡 🤣
No sympathy from me. A good friend of mine (US citizen) married a Brazilian and he's been waiting almost 2 years for DHS and State to process her visa application. His wife has been waiting in Brazil the entire time.
They're not used to thinking independently. You and Northern do not run the country.
Neither does jo >You and Northern do not run the country.
No. She's probably like most migrants that want to work. They don't come to America to subsist on handouts for years. They want jobs and money.
We were talking about why they come to America in the first place. It's not for handouts in NYC or Chicago. They come here to make money working.Oh come on. Many are receiving handouts. Look at NYC and Chicago.
Would you support ending the handouts?
We SHOULD be jailing those who are paying illegals...especially under the table.I’ve never been given a real answer to this question: if immigration is such a problem, why don’t we jail any employer found to be hiring illegal immigrants?
We need to figure out how many jobs aren't going to be filled by Americans so we give migrant workers a work visa or the like and companies can do this legally. We SHOULD be jailing those who are paying illegals...especially under the table.
The few that want to work do so for cash and scam the Americans that do pay taxes. We were talking about why they come to America in the first place. It's not for handouts in NYC or Chicago. They come here to make money working.
Sure, end handouts, I don't really care what the cities do either way. Citizens of the city and what they spend money on will decide.
Stuff like this drives me nuts. The few? What evidence do you have that the majority of migrants that come into the US don't want to work and aren't interested in jobs? The few that want to work do so for cash and scam the Americans that do pay taxes.
I have always said that if someone is here and working and paying taxes, they should be allowed to stay.We need to figure out how many jobs aren't going to be filled by Americans so we give migrant workers a work visa or the like and companies can do this legally.
LOL - They don't all pick fruit - those that do come with a seasonal work visa and go back to May-E-Co at the end of the season.Stuff like this drives me nuts. The few? What evidence do you have that the majority of migrants that come into the US don't want to work and aren't interested in jobs?
You realize that they don't actually have access to the same benefits US citizens do.
I guess in response to your assumptions. How do you know she was going to get a job? What makes you think she was here to have a better life. If she wanted to come to the US do you think she should 100% change to American ways or do you think it’s totally fine that she doesn’t make an effort to learn English. Or do you think she just wants an easier life where she can take advantage of our country while still doing and saying whatever she wants.I didn't say it was our job, I said you would think you would have empathy for a person who was trying to get one. But clearly you don't. Which is what I expect from MAGA's no sympathy for anyone but themselves.
The few that want to work do so for cash and scam the Americans that do pay taxes.
Why do we want to reduce legal immigration? I fully support stopping or slowing illegal immigration, but we need people willing to do the unskilled/low paying jobs. We are not having enough babies to replace the current population, if we want economic growth than legal immigration is a necessity,Not if you want to reduce legal immigration.
Link please? They must be incredibly highly paid based on the amounts we are getting in SS and Medicare from them then.
An ongoing border crisis that saw 5,000 illegal aliens being released into the United States per day in December of last year is a microcosm of a much larger issue as President Joe Biden aims to recapture the White House in a crucial election year. They must be incredibly highly paid based on the amounts we are getting in SS and Medicare from them then.
Good lord. Clearly you do not understand the political situation in the world.I'm curious as to why she's on our border. Eight countries between Columbia and the U.S.
