One way or another this is bad. Either CBS is making a horrible decision, or Feherty has done something inexcusable. I love Feherty's coverage, because my wife thinks he's funny and it means I can watch golf since she can tolerate it.

I assume he'll still be on Golf Channel and NBC. A golf broadcast just isn't the same without him.

I don't like this news, but they have enough personalities the broadcasts will still be great. CBS does golf better than anybody.

Love his take on the game.

Come to think of it, it didn't seem to me that Feherty was pulling his weight on CBS this season. Nance would have to ask him direct questions just to know he was there sometimes.

Maybe CBS decided they were paying too many analysts and had to decide between Feherty & Peter Costis. Costis is a wealth of information and insight, but doesn't have Feherty's flare.

Is Fox going to continue to broadcast PGA golf in the future? If so, they would do well to hire Feherty as chief analyst. Greg Norman got better as he went along during the U.S. Open, but was still often irreverent with many comments.

Fox's current contract is with the USGA, so that's only a few events (US Open, US Amateur, etc.). Unless they get more PGA contracts in the future. Feherty's main gig is NBC/Golf Channel, and he has his own show on Golf Channel now (which is worth a watch). Maybe Feherty wanted more money since he has more going now and CBS didn't match.

In any case, I always think a broadcast is better with Feherty's occasional interjections than without.
