Cedar Rapids secures ‘landmark’ $56 million federal grant to fund Eighth Avenue Bridge replacement

Good stuff. Asheville, NC is getting ready to replace a bridge that currently is a mixing bowl of Interstate traffic and a heavy local flow across the river. Wrecks and foulups are a near daily happening. We would love to see a bridge such as that come to town.

Big issue for a project that has been kicked “down the road” for decades is cost. We finally got bids for three segments and they were all way over estimate. Total project bid at a staggering 1.1 billion. Ouch.

Your first thought is always political, isn’t it?
Did Hinson vote against the infrastructure bill? Is she now claiming credit for projects brought to the 2nd District? So, yeah, I immediately think of rank hypocrisy in situations like this.

Truth bothers you, doesn’t it Kinnick? Hinson will be there at the ribbon cutting, guaranteed!
Just like Reynolds was on hand at the “ground breaking” at the DSM Airp[ort a couple of months ago. Joe was right when he signed the “Build Back Better” bill into law when he told the nation…and Republicans “We will see you all at the ground breakings.”

My interests in the matter go as far as the bridge and flood project. You guys are too much.
