Not sure what to make if this but wow I think something should be done

We're not going to sort of manipulate how the bracket gets laid out or the seeding," Clark said (h/t On3's Nick Kosko.) "We're not going to manipulate that to avoid rematches. If they happen naturally, they just happen. I imagine we're going to see some of that in this playoff. You could see teams play each other three times.
"They might play each other in the regular season, they might play each other in the conference championship, and then they see each other somewhere in the playoff. So it could happen, but we're not going to change the seeding to avoid those rematches."

Just do away with f***ing conference championship games.

Problem solved.

In a roundabout way, this is actually closer to the way things were pre-4 team CFP era/everyone needs a CCG era

*insert Oprah "you get a CCG, and you get a CCG".gif

The CCGs are the real outlier here, and are pretty much unnecessary cash-grabs.

Yes, I get that they want the CCGs to have a neat little layout to seed the 5 conf. champs, and the 4 that will get the top seeds/byes, but not having CCGs actually works in the favor of those that want this thing to be loaded with the best of the best.

Again, what was one of the fears coming into the season?

"Is it in Iowa's interest to miss the B10 CCG?"

Remember that question? What-if scenario, say we went 11-1 and missed the B10 CCG, would it have been better to be sitting their at 11-1, or potentially 11-2 with a beatdown in the CCG weighing on our resume?

That was legitimate discussion entering the season.

So if we were to remove the CCGs, that fear is eliminated and we're left with what we all assumed this was gonna be, a glorified and expanded beauty/popularity contest.

Say Indiana, Oregon, and Penn State all go 12-0. Instead of one of those teams then taking a loss in the CFP, and potentially getting f***ed over by the committee so they can get a 2 or 3 loss SEC team in, they'll have to manipulate things so that they leave out another undefeated team from a now-12 team playoff so they can get a f***ing 2 or 3 loss SEC team in, and make the SEC and Greg Sankey look like even bigger pieces of shit than they already do.

In an ideal world without CCGs, all 3 unbeatens would get into the CFP and their seed would be based on resume and rankings.

Yes, the CGG can simplify things, but in this era of the SEC and Big Ten wanting to get as many teams as possible in, why would they risk that by playing an extra game, that could potentially be rematch?

No, the simple solution is to do away with the not-needed cash grabs that are the CCGs, and let the rest of the process take care of itself.
