Going to Chicago for a weekend and would like some opinions on the best pizza. I'm a Lou Malnottis guy but I'm willing to play the field. Since there is no Caseys in Chicago I'll have to settle.

I have consistently heard good things about Vito and Nick's, but none of my Chicago friends will go there with me. Take that for what it's worth. I have friends that did business in that area, and some that grew up on the South Side, and have eaten it. But, they don't want to go.
So, probably not a good recommendation.
When I lived in Chicago (left in 2001), there was this place on North Clark in Lakeview called My Pi (like Clark and Fullerton, I seem to recall), that had THE BEST Chicago style deep dish pies. I couldn't find it with a quick google search so I fear it may be gone now. Otherwise, you can't go wrong sticking with Lou's.
Chicago style pizza is not good. I want pizza not a freaking casserole.
I plowed a few thousand Giordano's stuffed deep dish pies back in the day. Snotty hipsters will say they are corporate or whatever, but holy hell if it's not one of the best pizzas out there.
You asked for best pizza in Chicago. So I told you. If you wanted Chicago style please ask for that next time. Thanks for the help. We are staying on North Michigan Avenue, but can travel a bit for good pizza. As for the comments on Chicago style pizza, why would you go to Chicago and get thin crust? Doesn't make sense. That's why you eat pizza in Chicago.
Many dipshit tourists haven't tried any of the others. You guys are doing good work, keep spreading the word and fighting the good fight.Uno is the best.
Lol @ Giordanos being mentioned. Only dipshit tourists enjoy their pizza the best.
Fwiw there are two styles of Chicago pizza - stuffed and tavern style
As far as stuffed, Due's is the best imo
For tavern style, villa nova is the best if you're willing to drive 15-20 minutes
Please describe tavern style.
Please describe tavern style.
Thin but not paper thin, crispy crust, burnt cheese, sauce around the edge, cut in squares
Vito and nicks is not tavern style IMO because it's basically a cracker crust, but it's an excellent thin crust pizza that I'd recommend
It's the trendy thing to say. They've read it somewhere before and now are using it themselves. Pretty lame, actually. Chicago Style Pizza is pizza...and damn good for something different. What kind of horrible childhoods did the posters have who referred to Chicago deep dish as a casserole?
Tuna noodle, shepherds pie, and tater tot casseroles arent supposed to have a dough crust.

I preferred Giordanos when I lived there. Gino's East was another good local chain. Dag's is good too-- small Chicago chain I believe now. Never was a fan of Uno-- their frozen store bought pizzas are ok though. Speaking of frozen pizzas, Home Run Inn has the best.Uno is the best.
