Thought this would have been posted already, and don't mean to mislead, he did not win but came in second to Justin Fields . Still , most impressive. Fields had 12 first place votes and 1 second, Daviyon had 1 first place vote and 3 seconds. Coaches only vote and get a first and a second place vote, but cannot vote for their own player. Some thoughtful coach had Daviyon # 1 .
More on that. The article made mention that Fields did have 2 poor games out of the 6 regular season games. I remember when the pundits thought Chuck Long probably lost the Heisman to Bo because of a sub par game against Ohio State. But 2 subpar games still got Fields the trophy in a landslide. Because he is from TOSU ? And i take nothing away from him , he is extremely talented and was amazing against Clemson. But i think the vote was done before the Clemson game. Anyway, just trying to make a point.
And congratulations Mr. Nixon !
