I think you are thinking of North Korea. The Chinese actually use their infrastructure and have increased their wealth as a nation quite significantly.
And no one is rooting for China or likes their government. Our concern is that China is closing the gap on us very quickly.

I think people just recognize that Trump's policy is going to skyrocket (no pun intended) China's economy and development ahead of the USA.

China is an economic and military threat to the U.S. and it's neighboring countries, just as Russia is a military theat. That's what you are seeing being articulated. If that offends you, then I'm not sure what to say.

Oh there you go again. Getting all agitated because some folks have stated that China takes a longer view of things than the U.S. today. That's not necessarily an ideological cheerleader perspective, but an opinion that many share on the left and the right. Both countries face myriad problems. My money is still on the U.S., but the advantages of the past are waning, and a broken U.S. political system isn't helping matters.
As Americans with a vested interest in American success, we are all on the U.S. side. Some see America in decline, but for wildly disparate reasons.
