Christian McCcaffrey: O/U on his Rose Bowl rushing yards?

I'm confident Iowa stops his rushing game. Not so sure about the other areas but agree he is under his season average. Hopefully it's enough for the W.

He's going to have 150-185total yards. With the short dinky passes we give up, them wanting to get him the ball anyway and they will take everything we give them...

I'm worried he has a game like David Johnson (UNI) had against us last year where he doesn't do much between the tackles but gashes us on catches out of the backfield. I'm sure the coaches have been trying to put together a game plan to avoid this so hopefully it's successful.

David Johnson was/is a real talent, there is no doubt about that. But it also should be remembered that the UNI game was the first game of the season when we were adjusting our linebacking corps after losing three very good LB's to graduation and on to NFL careers. Those young linebackers have now developed into something rapidly approaching what we had in 2013 - I think they will show up in the Rose Bowl and prove what a robust group they have become.

Kick offs - out of the end zone
Punts - high to fair catch or OB
Pass - LB underneath with safety over the top.
Run - Jewell spying him the whole game.

If we're going to lose make it be by the rest of the team.

Did anyone see the northwestern game? Was he being used much then? How did NU contain him?

Vs. NW he had 12 carries for 66 yards, 4 catches for 23 yards, 4 kickoff returns for 90 yards, and 1 punt return for -8 yards. It's been noted they were still figuring out their offensive identity at that point.

Ill say he will get about 200 all purpose yds.

I think we keep him in check while rushing the ball. The passing out of the backfield and punt returns scare me.

I think he will have a ton of yards from scrimmage, mostly pass receptions out of the backfield while being guarded by LB's. We just need to prevent big plays in the kicking game and keep him out of the end zone.

There's only one stat to be concerned about: who gets the W.

On the other hand, a rested Iowa defense should have a good shot at containing McCaffrey, especially combined with all this time to watch film. But the kid is no fluke, so I expect he'll make some plays. I definitely thought he should have won the Heisman. It should be an interesting matchup.

His Rushing and Receiving totals in OOC games were...

Northwestern 89
UCF 117
ND 113

His good numbers came in conference play against weak D's...for Iowa i say he gets 80 Rushing 40 Receiving...
