Christmas lights in January

I'm not a practicing Christian, but I believe the correct answer to OP's question is 12 days after Christmas.

"The 12 days of Christmas is the period in Christian theology that marks the span between the birth of Christ and the coming of the Magi, the three wise men. It begins on December 25 (Christmas) and runs through January 6 (the Epiphany, sometimes also called Three Kings’ Day)."
That is the feast of epiphany (and when I take them down), but the season of christmastide continues. (Note I've also seen some who opt for the commemoration of the Baptism, which is the week after epiphany)

so pick your tradition and go with it.

My whole street still has their lights on, myself included. Since we didn't have snow for Christmas it's actually kind of nice with the snow now.
This year I bought this little spool from amazon that is basically a roll of dental floss with little led diodes on it, I put them up with double stick tape around the house and it looks really professional. So I'm keepin them on until this weekend!

I usually work on my Christmas lights September to February. They usually come down pretty quick in March.

In Iraq they kept them on for months for holidays.

Why does anyone complain about lights being on in neighborhoods for a while after x-mas? I like it.

Keeps burglars scared too. ;)

Mine are still up and lit every night as are my neighbors and many of the people in town. Why? Because the extension cords are buried under two feet of snow, and the plug-in receptacle and the light activated power strip that is plugged into it are buried under a 5-foot snow drift. Simple answer, I couldn't shut them off and take them down even if I wanted to.

The haters can suck it.
