What does the Northwestern job have to do with Kevin Jackson and the future of hiring a coach? There are PLENTY of qualified coaches out there that WOULD definitely LOVE the Iowa State job, and WOULD do a better job than KJ. And giving KJ another year in Ames isn't crazy, IT'S INSANE.
Furthermore, referring to me as "amigo" is classless.
Oh, given they just extended him after last year I doubt he's going anywhere after this season.
He hasn't cracked the top 10 since his first year with Cael's guys. They seem to be going backwards instead of forward. If I'm the AD I go find a guy who can actually coach and not be so shortsighted as to keep him around because of one good (not great) recruiting class.
Or in your case, sausage....Get a cold glass of milk have a cookie and calm down fellas..
Of course he won't get rid of him this year. If you're stupid enough to give him an extension, why would you bother. I would imagine any talk of a new Wrestling Coach is right behind needing a new stapler and some more paper clips on Pollards list of things to do.I agree with HawkTalk, Pollard will NOT make a change this year. He just hired a new basketball and football coach. The last thing he wants to do is find another new coach in a sport he knows nothing about. And then there's the whole extension aspect too....
Haha. Amigo is Spanish for "friend", unnecessary personal note, I just got back from Mexico so that's still my default. Would it have been classless if I called you "friend" or "buddy"? If it is, me-thinks you are just looking for a reason to get upset with me. If you think amigo is name calling, you are mistaken.
I guess we are just going to have to disagree that there are plenty of coaches that want the job and could 100% do a better job in Ames. If Pollard felt/knew that, he certainly wouldn't have extended KJ recently. I understand you want change, but if you can't see my argument where a college's administration probably isn't going to fire their coach they just gave an extension to and who at the very least has a good recruiting class, we can conclude our conversations. Clearly you aren't willing to even look at the other side of the coin, which is all I am pointing out. I am not advocating for KJ to keep his job, I am just saying an argument can be made to keep KJ another year.
