Clem Haskins & 30 former players Celebrate 20 yr anniv of their Academic Fraud Run to Final 4

Unbelievable.....this still pisses me off all these years later. If my memory is correct this should have been an Iowa and Tom Davis B10 championship. Andre W should have been the B10 MVP...but Minnesota won because they cheated.

yep; too bad they did not catch the fraud during the season; Iowa finished 2nd to Minnesota that year and Andre led the league in scoring and assists and finished 2nd to Minnesota's Bobby Jackson for B1G Player of the Year

and Clem and his players are celebrating all of this 20 years later

Man, if I were Clem and those players, I would be embarrassed.

And they are CELEBRATING, 20 years later????

Earlier Saturday morning, Gophers coach Richard Pitino invited Haskins and several basketball alumni to watch Saturdays's practice at Williams Arena. Haskins spoke to Pitino's team following the second practice of the season.

"They can take away all the banners they want to, but the memories are still there," he said. "The fans know. I get letters once a month from them reminiscing and letting me know they won't forget me."

What a flipping joke.

Can't make this stuff up.

Clem Haskins and his wife flew to the Twin Cities and 30 of his former players came together to honor him this week at dinner and during a tailgate Saturday before Minnesota's football game against Maryland.

This is a joke and he was a crook unfortunately. I will also remember him as the only Big 10 coach to attend CMS's funeral.

if you are a Gopher fan, how can you not be embarrassed that (1) he was in town celebrating and (2) Richard Pitino had him talk to this year's team

I wonder what the Minnesota AD thinks about this; if I were him, I would not be happy

They beat us handily in the conference but they should have with Sam Jacobson and Quincy Lewis on the team. Wanna know who our 3rd leading scorer was that year?

Guy
Rucker

Let it sink in. Forget the 5 points 2 assists and 3.7-1.2 Win Shares that Wooldridge had on Jackson with better shooting from the floor. Instead try to imagine a world where Guy Rucker was the left-hand man to Ryan Bowen and what it would take at the point to finish .500, let alone 2nd in the mid-90s Big Ten. Hell even Ryan Bowen didn't reach 12 PPG that year.
