Clemson defense

Why would they scout a D that attacks their opponent. We like to study the react schemes.

Honestly, why would you even try to make this comparison at this point? It's like asking the Iowa Cubs to match up against the Chicago Cubs. Different leagues.

I love the blitzes they use on the outside to contain the run.

Our standard answer is that the "cavalry isn't coming." Figuratively with a lack of playmakers and and our cavalry has to go defend slot wrs.

How is that blitzing looking now it looks like L-vile has that under control on this drive

Louisville's defense is pretty good too so far. Petrino's an ass, but he's a great coach.

These kids from Kentucky are good! Man they have the d back field we could only dream off... The pick, the open field tackling. Now That's Football! To hell with what Kirk says!

I wonder if Iowa coaches are watching. Probably not.
Hopefully the players are also watching this and watched the mi/wi game. Maybe they'll learn how to hold on to an INT instead of bouncing off their hands and onto the field! ;)

Forget the defense (not really, they have only allowed 10 pts at half) but they just did the most anti-KF thing ever. 3 timeouts, 30 seconds left in the half, 75 yards to go. Completion, completion, pass interference, completion, TD.

The out of bounds rule still doesn't make sense. On that last drive the guy got bumped and then stepped out of bounds with 9 seconds left and the refs stopped the clock.

That happened twice in the Iowa game and the first time Iowa had to call a timeout to stop the clock and the second time they didn't have a timeout to call.

Looked like 4 sacks, 2 fumbles, a pick, and only 134 yards against one of the most powerful offenses (so far) in college football for the first half.

I certainly don't think Iowa should blitz as often as Clemson but we can't continue to sit and make no adjustments while getting run all over.

I think it's because it was outside of 2 minutes. I could be wrong.

I believe Clemson quit blitzing so much after that drive and beating them straight up. My gosh watch the game

Doesn't really matter if the players don't step up. Even when they bring more than 4, the QB still has way too much time.....
Outside of King, Nelson, and Jewell....this D looks mediocre at best

I don't think there is a question that the defense is WELL below average. I'd throw Johnson in as an above average player. He seems to get doubled a lot and teams pick on Bazata. My point is that I feel we need to go for it more often. We have landed a few blitzes this year or forced guys into bad passes. There is almost 0 success when we bring 4.

Also, fully aware our guys are not of the same caliber as Clemson. They just don't play afraid and I like it.
