I can't figure the clones out, great athletes but not a good team effort sometimes.
A lot of one on one play and no bench.
If there's a world record of "the fastest an arena has cleared out" that record now resides in Ames IA
Cant blame the refs tonight either as they were falling for it.. Fouls were 12-4 at one pointWatching them play bothers me, they basically fly into the lane to try and draw a foul or throw up a 3, fairly terrible transition defense as well. If they aren't hitting shots or getting bailed out on foul calls, they can't beat anyone. I am not picking them to go very far in the tournament
Are you saying they stormed the exits? If there's a world record of "the fastest an arena has cleared out" that record now resides in Ames IA
Burton is just a chucker with no basketball IQ.I think Prohm is a good coach. But he needs to play Burton more. That dude is a bull and gives a ton of effort. McKay and niang are in a funk. I think the traveling thing is in Niang's head.
Having said all that, West Virginia was nails at the line late. That helps on the road.
Don't get me started on 'fastest arena clearout'. So tired of people leaving Iowa games with a few minutes to go. Doesn't matter the score.... it can be close or a blow out and people are leaving their seats in Carver.
You're right but the Cyclones got outrebounded by a margin of 43-26. Burton is at least serviceable in that department.Burton is just a chucker with no basketball IQ.
tough loss to WVU
They have a bench but Prohm won't use it.They are wearing down. Not enough to bodies
The Hogs are farrowing. Got to get home so they can be at the Co-op bright and early to drink coffee with their buddies. Euchre at the tap later. Frickin tough being a farmer these days with the income guarantees and all.Are you saying they stormed the exits?
No they don't. Ashton and Cooke suck. They've got nothing outside of burton. They have a bench but Prohm won't use it.
Takes us geezer ticket holders a few minutes to limber up after sitting on our hands for 2 hours to get up those 80 steps from our floor seats.

Ya hooper is a douche apparentlyYes, being a farmer is easy. Right.

Uh no. Hooper was just trying to be funny (not a bad attempt) but farming is anything but easy.Being a farmer without livestock is very easy!

Bingo. They are wearing down. Not enough to bodies
THIS ...may be the most ridiculous excuse-making comment for bad fan behavior I've ever read.Once again its the design of Carver that does that. People who sit way down there have to walk up the steps and they don't want to stand on the steps for hours. I remember a few years back vs MSU it was a tight ball game (maybe 2-3pt game) with over 2 min left and there were people walking up the stairs leaving? I couldn't believe it. A buddy and myself started walking down and sat in some empty seats.
Carver needs to be re-done or have another way out for the people in the lower half of the arena to get out.
And yet it is those same "blue hairs" that still donated and attended games when the program was in the dumps, while the "real fans" abandoned Iowa basketball in droves.THIS ...may be the most ridiculous excuse-making comment for bad fan behavior I've ever read.
I got an idea, let's not let the blue hairs sit down by the floor to begin with....they're the ones who can't stand for long periods of time.

Yep, let's punish those blue hairs by putting them farther up the arena. That'll teach 'em!
UAB was the wake up call isu needed. At least that is what isu grads have been telling us.Bingo.
So do "suites" users add to the atmosphere, that people are always saying CHA lacks? Doubt it. Simply a way to make some money.I was thinking more of re-designing carver and having some sort of floor exit for those people. Also I think having the "concourse" all the way at the top is just bad design. Those people have to walk up the stairs to use the pisser or get popcorn. It makes no sense. I have sat all over Carver and there really isn't a "bad" seat in the arena, but there also isn't a great seat either. I just think the whole lay-out is bad. I would also wish they would put in some "suites" for people to rent. We did that at a UNI game last year and it was blast. Was able to watch a little basketball, drink a little beer and have fun.
Carver is a great concert venue, but probably one of the worst basketball venues. I see why its quiet in there, your about 100 ft back from the action and half of the time the student section isn't even full. The students are never into the game, like you see at MICH, ISU, and other major colleges.
I realize they have the tunnels that they go out, but the last time I went through there, I would rather stand on the stairs. Took way to long to get out.
