If she came on the transfer market tomorrow, Iowa would take her in a second & JJ would make her a star. Knowing ahead of time, she doesn’t honestly fit the way we like to get up and down the court, and we would still take her….
I’m not saying you per se, but there are quite a few guys on here. They’re so biased. They are incapable of giving an Iowa State player credit.

First the comparison above was between college players , CC and Crooks as I read it.

If Crooks played at Iowa there's a decent chance you don't get a recruit like Deal because you're having to slow the game down to let her get to the paint for your half court offense.
Seldom does she play more than 4/5 minute stretches.
Crooks would not survive in the current B1G.

I do think she has some skills, but she absolutely does NOT fit Iowa's style. She can't run, but does dominated some games because of her huge size ( and I am not saying tall).

In 21/22 sophomore Caitlin Clark played against number 10 seed Creighton at Home in the second round of the NCAA tournament and we were heavily favored. She had 15 points on four of 19 shooting and three of 10 from three point range and we lost.

She had a nifty reverse spin move between two girls today, if Iowa Iowa State could’ve got her the ball she would’ve had 20+ points easy. Our girls could’ve got her the ball.
I think Ava Heiden would be a great match up; Ava is listed at 6'4 & would be able to block her shots (imo) because like you said, Crooks can't jump at all.

If Crooks was a Hawkeye, there's no way in hell the pace is what we see so far.
I think it's pretty obvious that the pre season ranking of ISU was entirely based on their tourney run last season and having multiple returning starters.
No one that has watched them so far can think they belong anywhere near the top 25.

Actually I don't think Jan would have an interest in Crooks. She wants her posts to run the floor. One reason she went after Heiden and Hays. Both pretty athletic and can get down the floor. Crooks jogs both ways aLOT

ISU is a fringe top 25 team. Their point guard Ryan isn’t a very good ball handler and slow. That’s a bad combo with a center that has a hard time getting up and down the court and struggled to catch the ball today. Numerous times she was falling down or out of bounds trying to pass the ball outside. It’s early in the season and they will probably be fine in the Big 12 but they will get run out of the gym by UCONN and Iowa. Lucy Olsen isn’t missing the ISU game no matter what. Iowa should run them out of the gym with their style of play and cuts to the basket on the weak side to pull Crooks out of the middle of the lane and away from the basket if they play man but have a feeling we will see zone due to their slow team speed.

That is a very flawed team, but the ISU vs Iowa game is seldom a blowout.
