Let's be honest, does Fran and his staff really make his team better? This year was slightly different, but for the previous few seasons the team looked like a Top 10 team only to tank the final 2 weeks of the season while bombing out in the Big 10 tourney.

I think once the Bulls give Fred Hoiberg the boot, Iowa should make every effort to hire him. Fran is the not the guy that is going to get it done in Iowa City. Fred's system works as he accomplished more in his five years in Ames than any Hawkeye basketball coach did since Tom Davis was unfairly shown the door. Fran....we know what he's doing is not working and sometimes it's even embarrassing.

You people talking like this are clueless. Every last one of you. It is sickening as a Hawkeye fan to think that you could be spewing this filth everywhere you go.....I just hope that you are an internet tough guy and hide behind your keyboard. You give true Hawkeye fans a bad name and it makes me sick to my stomach to be associated to any of you.

You do realize that you were probably the same person that was spouting off to get rid of Davis.....this would be the same thing.

I might try this recipe:

Chicken nachos

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • A few dashes hot sauce
  • 1 large bag tortilla chips
  • 3 cups grated Cheddar-Jack (approximately -- you may need more or less)
  • 1/4 cup jarred jalapeno slices
  • 1/4 cup chopped pitted black olives
  • 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 3 green onions, green and white parts, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
Add Checked Items to Grocery List
Directions

Watch how to make this recipe.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Sprinkle the taco seasoning and chili powder all over the chicken breasts.

Heat the oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and saute on both sides until browned, about 5 minutes per side, then remove from the skillet and set aside. To the skillet, add the tomato sauce, hot sauce and 2 cups hot water and bring to a gentle boil.

Shred the chicken with 2 forks, then return the shredded chicken to the liquid and simmer on low until everything is hot and bubbly.

Assemble the nachos in 2 ways: Sprinkle a layer of tortilla chips onto 2 ovenproof plates or baking dishes. Sprinkle both with cheese and then a layer of chicken; repeat twice more with each layer getting smaller in circumference. Finish with an extra sprinkling of cheese. Bake just until the cheese melts, 5 to 10 minutes.

Poster Changes? Let's be honest. Does this poster and his thoughts really make this board better?

How did that correlate to NCAA tournament games?

Not only is that the first time I've heard that idea, it's the worst idea I've ever heard. We are the University of Iowa not the transfer school for dysfunctional basketball players, but thanks for the thought.

Fred wouldn't even be able to get good transfers anymore. That market was drying up by the time he left Ames as bigger schools were getting involved. Fred saw the writing on the wall and that he would have to go back to recruiting high school kids and began interviewing for every open NBA job.

Fred Hoiberg will stay in the NBA, even after he loses
the Chicago Bulls gig. He would never endure the
recruiting of high school guys in today's competitive
market. Coach Fran of the Hawkeyes even goes to
the games of 7th and 8th graders. Fran really cares
about the members of his team and his home has an
open door to all of them.

Fred "Call me before you call the cops" Hoiberg would never even consider coaching at Iowa.

Well, you obviously showed your cards with the Tom Davis comment. You didn't have any credibility before you mentioned how unfairly (your opinion, not mine) Davis was let go but now you have no respect either. It was thinking like yours that got us Todd Licklighter. How did that work out?

I believe Iowa won 7 out of its last 10 for 3 of the last 5 years. Everyone remembers the only 2 years and assumes that happened every year.

No an AD hiring an @hole coward as a coach who bailed when he couldn't hack it got us Todd Lickliter. I liked Davis but I think the AD was right that we needed a change. How that change was implemented (lame duck year) and the coach we hired to replace Davis (Steve @$$hat), however, were both big mistakes.
