Was listening to Gameday on ESPN radio today. Had a guy on (didn’t catch name) that was talking about
grading pro coaches and using that evaluation to plug into determining points on a game. He used the example of Patriots v. Chargers. Said Chargers should be favored but because the head to head coaching matchup of Belicheck v. Anthony Lynn, it tilted tilted the game to the Pats by a couple points. Gave statistical reason why. This all makes senses and using metrics is not surprising, but I’ve never actually heard the head to head coaching battle evaluated that way. If they use this for NFL, do they do the same for College? Like Ferentz v Fitzgerald etc.
