***College Football Playoff Ranking Predictions***

3. Michigan St.
4. Iowa
5. Notre Dame
6. Oklahoma
7. Baylor
8. Ohio st
9. Stanford
10. Ok State

Edit: forgot OSU. If MSU chokes against PSU they will still be able to squeeze in if they beat us.

I think Iowa will move into the top 4, It'l be interesting to see how they value MSU's three quality wins against Mich., OSU, and Oregon vs their bad loss at Nebraska. Could be actually that the put MSU in Iowa's 4 spot. Lots of losses in the bottom 25, Pitt could make an appearance.

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Notre Dame
4. Iowa
5. Oklahoma
6. Mich St
7. Baylor
8. Ohio State
9. Ok State
10. Stanford (if they win)
11. Michigan
12. Florida

How many Big 10 teams will be in the top 10?

Notre Dame looked like crap. Maybe should have fallen another spot.
B1G #1 Conference in college football.

Should be CFP Top 10:
1 Clemson [maintains position]
2 Alabama [I actually think Iowa deserves the #2 slot, seeing as they are the only other undefeated team (aside from Clemson)]
3 Iowa
4 Michigan St [questionable call @ Nebby means 10-1 instead of 11-0]
5 Notre Dame [yuck, but only loss is a couple points @ #1]
6 Oklahoma [ugly loss to Texas, and lucky to survive TCU, but doesn't make sense to rank Baylor ahead of the team that just beat them a week ago]
7 Baylor [big win @ Ok St and only one loss on the year (so far)]
8 Ohio St [no wins vs T25, but only loss is 3 points vs a Top5 team]
9 Michigan [only losses @ Utah and vs MSU]
10 Stanford [just not super impressed with them - McCaffery is their team]

Will be CFP Top 10:

1 Clemson
2 Alabama
3 Notre Dame
4 Iowa
5 Oklahoma
6 Michigan St
7 Baylor
8 Stanford
9 Ohio St
10 Michigan/Florida [Florida only by the sake of being an SEC team, one that will play in the SECCG]

Wow. Just stopped to think about it... if OSU doesn't slip out of, and Michigan slip into, the T10, that will make 4 B1G teams in the CFP Top 10 [40% overall], with just one week to go in the regular season. Contrasted with just 1 SEC and 2 B12 teams.

Heck, going into yesterday the B1G had 4 of the top 12 and 6 of the top 25. Same metrics for SEC would've spawned articles and lengthy discussions among talking heads praising its strength.

Don't know why so many have OK in front of MSU. MSU's win was huge, and if you look at each team's season afresh MSU is definitely superior.

And ND and Alabama no longer have impressive enough wins to be top4. Hopefully they acknowledge this about ND and drop them down.

1 Clemson
2 MSU
3 Alabama
4 Iowa
5 ND
6 tOSU
7 OK
8 Baylor

Not sure why I do this to myself, but I decided to turn on ESPN just to see if they would mention Iowa in the Top 4. Of course they didn't.

Their "expert" just picked it like this

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Michigan State
4. Oklahoma

You'd think I'd eventually learn but for some reason I keep going back for a food pellet only to be disappointed with the results

As long as Iowa is top 5 with a B1G team in front of them all is well.

But getting in front of ND would be huge. And a possible total meltdown of tOSU would be very helpful.

Yeah. That from ESPN's Heather Dinich who yesterday tweeted:Still think Stanford isn't getting enough credit for the possiblity of beating Notre Dame, but yes, would be gr8 db8.

Really Heather? You're giving credit for wins in games that haven't been played?

"Clemson and Alabama win in blowouts. Iowa remains unbeaten." - ESPN

Hmm. Clemson won by 20 at home to an ACC bottom feeder. Iowa won by 20 at home to a BIG bottom feeder.

It is things like this that make it easy for people to think that OU or even MSU could jump Iowa.

Just keep winning.

Are they predicting the final playoffs or this week's rankings?

Kirk herbstreit just tweeted his top 4 and first two out....

  1. Clemson
  2. Alabama
  3. Michigan state
  4. Oklahoma
Next two... ND and Baylor

Hmmmm, well, just keep winning Hawks. Heck with the rankings...

3. Michigan St.
4. Iowa
5. Notre Dame
6. Oklahoma
7. Baylor
8. Ohio st
9. Stanford
10. Ok State

If Michigan St loses, they won't be in the BTT game! It would be the winner of Michigan or Ohio St.

We really need MSU to get into the Top 4 if you think about it. Here's why -

- If Iowa wins out, they're in. Undefeated, wins at Nebby and over MSU in the B1G title game - we're in.

- If Iowa loses to Nebby or MSU or both, we need MSU to make the playoff. That would move us up a notch in bowl pickings.

We need MSU to be impressive and win big against PSU.

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Iowa
4. Notre Dame
5. Oklahoma
6. Michigan State
7. Baylor
8. Stanford
9. Ohio State
10. Michigan

What say you?
I don't think we'll jump ND. Not saying I think they should be ranked ahead of us, just think they will be.
1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Notre Dame
4. Iowa
5. Oklahoma
6. Michigan State
7. Baylor
8. Ohio State
9. Stanford
10. Michigan

If Northwestern can drop from 18 to 20 after winning by 7 over Purdue...why can't Notre Dame drop after winning by 3 over BC?

Oh yeah. They are Notre Dame. Never mind. Move along. Nothing to see here.

I agree. I have no problem w/ a 1 loss team from a really good conference or division making the playoffs (e.g. vs. an undefeated from a non Power 5 conference). BUT, if you want the upper seed (#1 or #2) you should be undefeated.

#1 and #2 should be Clemson, Iowa; Period.

I would just love to see the wheels fall off the playoff cart if Florida were to beat Alabama in the SEC Title game.

And if they had actually lost to FL Atlantic, it would have made it even juicier.....

ESPN can only keep up this charade until Tuesday night

On Tuesday ESPN will have to bend over and say it... Iowa, right now, is projected playoff team

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH

This & Ohio State needs to lose.

With everything that happened after the game (players tweeting and such) I see this happening.

Agree on 1. Clemson and 2. Iowa. Also, Florida will lose to FSU so it isn't out of the realm of possibility to see Bama lose in the SEC CCG.

1-Clemson
2-Bama
3-Iowa
4-ND
5-MSU
6-Oklahoma

But like others have said, it really doesn't matter. We control our own destiny. Something many other teams can't say.
