College Football Playoff Rankings projection: Indiana replaces Iowa State, Texas' fall disrupts at-large order

Oregon isn't the only Big Ten unbeaten making noise in the College Football Playoff conversation.

Looks about right as things stand today, but there's still lots of football to be played. For example, Iowa State might get in ahead of BYU. But the biggest story by far would be Indiana, a program with no history of football success, no football tradition, and little fan support. Indiana, with a first-year head coach nobody ever heard of, is playing brilliant and entertaining football and is on track to make the playoffs. Amazing, and I love it.

Meanwhile, back in Iowa City, the dean of coaches claims a 24-year-old who can barely walk gives Iowa "the best chance to win" as the starting QB. The traditionally outstanding defense missed 19 tackles last week vs. Michigan State, the D-backs were embarrassingly abused, and MSU ran at will. The Hawkeyes will end up a million miles from the playoffs, and KF will have FIVE years left on his contract.

Indiana wishes they had such continuity in their coaching staff, am I right?

IU has @msu, @ OSU and Mich left on their schedule and are @Wash this week.
If they win all but OSU they will probably be in playoff at 11-1 while missing the BIG title game(Oregon v OSU).
