Wish it was in Iowa City considering most of this GameDay broadcast has been around Penn State and Iowa.

With that said, they just did one of the one-on-one stories about Saquon Barkley and he seems like a standup guy. Good to see a guy with that much talent seem so humble.

Here's to hoping for a good game today. On Iowa, Go Hawks!

I thought NYC was a dumb idea but it is cool to see pretty much every school represented in the crowd.
 
Upon further review... could Delaney be behind this? Adding Rutgers was all about the NY TV market right? And they just happened to put Rutgers in the papers with a probationary hand slap this week.

Hmmm...I smell a conspiracy. ;)

I guess I don't see what is so big about having Gameday. I would just as soon keep that circus away.

And for those who will counter that it is "good publicity" for the school.....apparently they have been talking a lot about the Iowa game anyway, so no need for them to be in Iowa City.

I haven't watched it in years, but when I did, I didn't pay one bit of attention to where they were. It was a complete non-factor.
 
I always wake up right when gamedah ends. I was hoping Iowa/PSU would be the last pick. Who did they pick to win?

I also didn't care for having it in a place where there isn't a game being played. On the other hand it looks like it would be a lot of fun to be there. Maybe there is a Hawkeye game watch near Times Square.

I really can't even watch it anymore when he is on. I feel bad for him and it us hard to watch. Time for him to hang it up.
 
Dear God some people thought that was Franklin? Seriously? Was he gonna jump on Wheels Up with Herbie and fly to Iowa City and get there late afternoon? Cause coaches don't do anything on game day except go on Gameday a time zone away from their team and pick Stanford-UCLA. Wow.

All I've heard leading up to this game is how iowa are giant killers. Especially at night. There is no reason game day should be in New York. They should be at Kinnick.

There is a great article on Corso and how the show works post-stroke. I always liked Herbie before but after reading that article Herbie is an absolute stud. He never knows when Corso will mis-speak so always needs to be ready to rescue him subtly without basically embarrassing him. I now really notice how he will tap his arm and do a minor correction to get Corso back on track and the reverence Herbie speaks of him; like a father. Really pretty cool deal. Everybody knows Corso has slipped but with Herbie Corso is still entertaining unlike for example how bad Lou Holtz got on the scoreboard show.

So Corso is Herbie's puppet?.. When it comes to having to have someone "tap an arm" or have to think of something so you don't embarrass yourself because you can no longer think coherently, just give it up.
 
Yeah, plenty of old, out of work coaches out there that could do that job.

No Gnat - the point is he made the show. And he is still decent. And he stumbles and gets a little help. And to a person he is beloved. My guess is your are like 24 and don't remember where the show came from. The highest ratings BTW come when Corso makes his picks. He is not a puppet and thinks fine, speech slips. God u are a prick Gnat and should be squashed.
