College season discussion

Disagree with point #2. It's true that folkstyle does have the scrambling, but many of the ankle dives result in a stalemate. In freestyle, you need to score takedowns quickly or you risk exposure from crotch lifts, chest wraps and head pinches. Positioning and technique become even more important.

That's a solid point.

I do wonder how much this is going to change with the new ruleset that has been tentatively announced for next year.

Henry Cejudo and Aaron Pico were both very successful freestylers. I respect your opinion but I disagree to an extent. What about all the other successful folkstylers that did/have nothing in freestyle? Cruz, Heil, Crutchmer, Brewer, Lizak, Dardanes brothers. Are they just not suited fot freestyle or is it because of lack of exposure to the sport?
You are absolutely right. And Alex Meyer didn't even place at the WTT. When folk style hammers like Meyer don't even place you have to consider revamping our system.

One cannot place, if one doesn't wrestle

I'm thinking rcamp was being sarcastic. Hoping at least.
Yes. A failed attempt at sarcasm I suppose. The dudes examples of folk style studs was laughable. I just can't believe they would even have a WTT without inviting a folk style dynamo like Brody Grothus though. The system must be totally reworked!
