Headed to Colorado Springs to hook up with my two oldest sons tomorrow. Does anyone know of a good sports bar in Colorado Springs to watch victory number 8 on Saturday??

look up "Hawks on the Rocks" on facebook or google it. It is a collective group of Hawk fans in colorado that have game watches at bars. I know they have big game watches in Denver but not so sure about Colorado Springs

I believe milehighhawk? lives there. One would think he would have some ideas. Hopefully he will chime in.

Lived in the Springs for 16 years and I have yet to find a good bar to watch the hawks. If you find one let me know.

I was in downtown Co Springs last year while an early Sunday Iowa bball game was on. There was nothing open. I think I had to go to Old Chicago to watch it. Ugh

As I typed that I forgot it's a 1:30 kickoff so downtown will be open. Can't think of any good sports/Hawk bars on Tejon St though.

I actually commute to the Springs from Highlands Ranch area....Hawks on the rocks should be helpful....my group of friends have used that to try different bars on saturdays. IDK about the Springs but there are several good places in Denver Metro Area that are "Hawkeye Bars'

Lived here since 1980. Back East on North side of town. Could also try the Dublin house though it isn't nearly as good as it use to be.

Depending on how long you have to visit with your kids given time I would drive to denver and go to the sports column.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We got some options now for sure. Have a Happy Hawkeye Day!!!

If you don't mind the drive you will have a much better time in Denver. The Sports Column is the best. It gets pretty crowded but it's fun to be surrounded by tons of crazy Hawk fans.

Head up to Greenwood Village and go to the Sports Book on Arapahoe, myself and several Iowa fans go there. They are one of the Hawks on the Rocks game watch.

I live in the Springs, Red Leg is a good call as the owner is a fan and they have good beer. Tony's may be a good call as it is a midwestern bar (mainly Packers, but a few others)

If you can there are a few up in Denver, of which Sports Column is by far the most popular.

Back in my days there which was 94 to 98 most Hawkeye fans gathered at The Union. I am not even sure it's there anymore but man it was fun to watch games there.

Where the hell is the Red Leg Brewing Company? I’ve spent the last 12 summers in Colorado Springs and I’m getting tired of driving to Denver to watch the games at The Sports Column. The drive back is always terrible.
The lack of quality sports bars in town is disturbing. The Springs isn’t really a “sports” kind of town. Hell, I don’t even think there’s an ESPN Radio station available.

If you feel like making a road trip Centennial CO has a Hawk bar called Sportsbook bar & grill it's right off of I25 and Arapahoe. When the Hawks are playing that's the only game on : )

It is just off Garden of the Gods, right off the interstate. It is *not* a sports bar. It is a brewery that generally has the Iowa games on because the owner is an Iowan. I'm not sure if they would even be open for a 10:00am MT kickoff, you'll have to ask them.

Cool, thanks. When I'm there, I stay in the apartments on Filmore, across from Coronado High so I'm on GotG Road all the time.
There used to be a fairly good sports bar off Centennial, on the other side of GotG Road. Gone now.

Just checked it out. Has a.projection screen. Bartender said if someone was there before us that's the game that's on. Prolly look some here other than Red Leg

I lived there for 2 years the Springs suck. Loveland is better but don't know about Iowa bar in Northern Colorado. I watch at home.

DixieHawkeye! Son! Yer dang response doesn't help the original feller's request. He ain't drivin up to yer house yonder north. Four Buckeye stickers will be removed from yer dadgum meat helmet.

Steakout Saloon in Old Town is most fun Iowa bar in Colorado imo. Plus you're in Old Town when game is over and not stuck in lame Denver.

CB & Potts in south Ft Collins is the official alumni bar I believe but Steakout is more fun. Town Pump also has Hawk fans. All the bars are in Ft C. No official Iowa bar in Loveland.

ok intentionally highjacking this thread temporarily.... family incl. myself, wife, and two young boys are considering moving to Colorado Springs. For those that have lived there, what are the positives and negatives of the city? Thanks in advance!

You commute from South Denver to Colorado Springs daily? That would explain why you're so angry here.

Don't do it. The dullness of the Springs, coupled with the meat head military vibe and all the Christian Conservative headquarters there, far outweigh the natural beauty of the area.

LOL, the commute is not that bad....and I think you are confusing being angry and calling you on your BS "inside information".....look SP we all know you are a pathetic liar and you should just move on so you can save face even in the slightest

Don't know SP but as I said I've lived here since 1980 and all he is spouting off is stereotypical BS. Contact me and I'll help where I can.

Colorado Springs is beautiful first of all. I think it would be a nice place to raise a family. I would look into moving to a northern city between springs and denver personally, especially with a family. I think Castle Rock is a great location, however; right now the school district is facing a bit of a financially problem. There are many military families and personal in the area, which can be both good and bad. For younger crowds it can be a little boring, but for families it is pretty nice.....

How in the hell would you consider this objective and factual information!?!?!?! You ruin every thread that you particpate in because you are either a troll or a complete idiot.....unfortunately for you I think it is the latter of two.......every thing that you said here is false because it is simply your opinion....and you know what BS I am talking about from your previous posts claiming inside sources and all that crap

Yeah, you're not mad. LOL. I suppose I would be mad too if I was stuck on I-25 for hours a day while living in the far flung Denver suburbs.

Again, what did I say that was false? The Air Force academy is there and permeates the culture. There are multiple right wing christian groups headquartered there. Which permeates the culture there.

Don’t listen to sp. Colorado Springs is a very nice, small city. It has good parts and bad parts, like anywhere else. As has been said, the natural beauty is hard to beat. Being on the Front Range, you have easy access to the mountains and all the fun to be had there. Hiking, biking, camping, and all the rest will keep you plenty busy, if that’s what you’re into. Crime is fairly low, but you do need to avoid certain areas, not unlike anywhere else.
The downtown scene is kinda weak for a city of this size. This isn’t all bad, because when you need to do something downtown, it’s fairly easy to park and get around. I will say, the homeless problem downtown is worse than you might imagine. Lots of pan handlers and people sleeping in the parks.
Colorado College just north of downtown. It’s a very nice, small, rather expensive, liberal arts college. The campus is beautiful. Their art museum is impressive.
UC Colorado Springs is also in town, but kinda tucked out of the way. They have one of the better hockey programs in the country.
Of course the Air Force Academy is there too. If college football is your thing, tickets to games are cheap and easy to get. It’s also one of the better game-day experiences I’ve ever had. If you thought the fly-over at Kinnick was low, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
The airport isn’t much, but it’s growing. If you have to get somewhere, Denver International is an hour, hour and a half away.
If you can handle your kids growing up Broncos fans, The Springs is a nice place to live.

Everything I have ever seen you post is false or just really stupid..and in all honesty it is very tough to be angry with 300+ days of sunshine
