I think that a city ordinance (I doubt this is a national law) saying you can't park anywhere on what is assumed to be private property is absolutely ridiculous. That said, if you think redistributing "wealth" is Communist then the US is already there as your employer deducted tax dollars are redistributed to provide social programs, defense, infrastructure, education and many other services. Your team calls it "socialism", not "communism", to refer to situations in which you don't agree with how tax dollars are spent.

it's common for (typically) local govts to regulate how long your front lawn can get, how much junk (and what kind of junk) you can store in your front yard...
