Common Denominator Among Final Four Teams

Experience matters. To a lesser extent with South Carolina (the lowest seed of the four teams), the other teams are led by players with multiple years of playing division one basketball.

Gonzaga is led by Williams-Goss (JR transfer), Karnowski (SR), Mathews (SR, transfer) and Williams (JR, transfer).

North Carolina is led by Jackson (JR), Berry II (JR), Meeks (SR) & Hicks (SR).

Oregon is led by Brooks (JR), Dorsey (Soph), Bell (JR) & let's not forget injured Boucher (SR.).

South Carolina's best player is Thornwell (SR) with Notice (SR) as well.

Iowa needs to keep its core group together, add some a piece or two along the way, and gain experience. In Fran we trust.
I've been a firm-believer that schools with veteran players have the ability to go far in the tourney and have the potential to knock out some of the 1-and-done schools (i.e. Kentucky, MSU) ... You get a roster with decent talent that's played together for 3-4 years and match that up against a bunch of freshmen ... your chances are decent in beating the new roster ... I love seeing other schools cracking the nut and entering the mix (i.e. SC, Oregon, Gonzaga) ... I never mind seeing Calipari's NBA Development program get knocked out ...

I think the win-loss record is part of the equation..before Thornwell, Notice, etc were seniors they were freshman...I believe a quick review of the record 4 years ago is reflective...14-20?

I would suggest when some of our freshman...and the addition of some size..we should see an improvement from our 19-15 record.

Martin certainly demands (LOUDLY sometimes) his players to play hard nosed defense..its gotten them to a Final 4..which speaks for itself.

I dont trust Perry Clark,,but maybe his past is just that. Its always good to see a non-blue blood make the final 4.
