I thought the ball was over the goal line when his knee touched as well.

...and his momentum carried him into the EZ.

The ball was in the EZ when his knee went down. Unless that college rule is now different, that should have been a touchback.

I wondered that too. But after watching the replay, he was on the ouside of the offensive line players, therefore eligible.

I looked at this again on the DVR....and on a closer slo-mo, it did look like his knee was down with the ball at about the 1/2 yard line. So, they probably made the correct call in not calling a touchback.
