Iowa was outstanding after that ugly, ugly start. OSU couldn't handle the "pressure" of the must-win game. LOL LOL LOL

Excellent team win again. This team, as many of us have said, has been a lot more fun to watch since the center went down with the bad finger. Iowa is working harder on defense, they're working harder on the boards, they're just making the effort many of us have asked for. And it's made for some better basketball. Everyone who played, once again, had a hand in the victory. So enjoy it and shock the world tomorrow by sending the Illini packing. Hell, why not . . .

BTW: Anybody who thinks OSU is an NCAA team is just plain insane. If they make the field, the tourney loses any semblance of credibility. That they were even considered a "bubble" team going into this game was crazy. They're now a gaudy 17-15, but they did win some games somewhere at sometime. HA HA HA

Meanwhile, Bradley and many other deserving midmajors get left out. Power teams should actually have to earn it, not have it handed to them because of what it says on the front of their damn jersey. THE Ohio State can go to @#$&, but they definitely should NOT go to the NCAA tourney.

I’ve noticed the same.

tOSU is 17-15. We are 17-15. Honestly, I don’t think either team belongs in the tournament, so I’m wondering why they are (or were) on the bubble. I guess they have more “quality wins” than we do?

Hopefully the Wins Above Bubble metric gains traction over the Quad metric. The selection committee is just now starting to expand their metrics understanding.

Drake, Utah State, San Diego State, VCU, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, San Francisco, George Mason, Dayton, Colorado State, Boise State, and North Texas all have better or very similar profiles for at-large consideration against teams like Ohio State and Texas.

They shouldn't be on the bubble, but they have some nice wins that we don't have.
Texas - neutral site
Kentucky - neutral site (by 20)
Purdue - road
Maryland - Home

Our best win is probably today over them

This is true.... But that 17-15 record looks UGLY. It's like bowl games for 6-6 or 5-7 team. I guess they might meet the minimum requirements. LOL

True, but it’s a game of slim margins. Had we beat Michigan on the road and/or ISU at home we’d be on the bubble.

tOSU sealed their fate today.
They’re out.
Can’t lose in round one as a bubble to the 15 seed.

Shhhhh!

It was a really shitty year for Fran…and credit him and staff for rallying the troops when many (here) were hoping against them and their success.
Whatever happens from here will not change what happened in the past and what happens next won’t change what needs to happen next year.

Winning a BIG tourney game that they really shouldn't when it doesn't really matter that much is peak Fran. Go Hawks! Run the damn table.
