Connor and JBo shouldn't be on the court at the same time, unless...

If JBo is knocking down 3 pointers its fine. But if he's missing or not getting clean opportunities, then these 2 on the court at the same time is such a LIABILITY on Defense. Just don't have the athleticism to play against most Big backcourts.

J Bo just missed his session with the shot doctor at the local Y. I think due to COVID. Will be fine.

. Put a quick guard on JB and he will not be a factor— then hope one of the wings has an off night = iowa loss

Fran can't play man due to match up issues so he is forced to play zone which other teams can easily defeat with dribble penetration. Iowa gives up lots of open looks, gets smoked on the boards or both. Offensively, Fran has Garza and 3 spot up shooters who need someone else to create open looks for them but we don't have anybody to do that. It's not a coincidence that random guys averaging 6-8 ppg go for season / career highs against Iowa. Frazier was averaging 8ppg and had 24 on 8-13 shooting.

IMHO, Fran has the necessary pieces but won't use them. Rolling the same starting 5 out with the same rotations will = same results. It's not too late. The upcoming schedule + CJ's injury affords him the opportunity to put some different combos on the floor and see what happens.

Garza and Bohannon shouldn't play together. Defense is not good when they play together. You also have to play zone. Of course there's no evidence Fran can actually coach man to man defense.

This is where I mentioned that they should try to work Toussaint in with Bohannon at the same time, more often.

So what if it wasn't effective in the brief instance they tried it against Illinois.

How often are they ever actually in the same group of 5, whether in practice or games?

If you stick with that lineup change and give it a chance to work, maybe that frees Jordan up a little more on the offensive end and maybe that will help to limit Joe's propensity for reckless turnovers, by having another veteran guard on the floor whom he can kick it to when he's being pressured.

If they wanna have their most athletic defender hound Jordan because he's not quick enough, then let Joe run PG and play 4 on 4 and force the defense one way or another to sag off of Jordan or get caught in an off-ball screen.

Either way, when Bohannon is out there, they are asking him to do more than he is clearly capable of doing against the best competition we face, and that needs to change. However they do it is up to them, but I can tell you right now, it's not gonna change by just hoping Jordan can shoot his way out of this problem.............
