Connor

So fantastic half the fans can't even spell his name right after 6 years. I hope he can keep it up the next few games, good Connor is definitely an asset. Always been a great passer when he picks up dribble. Maybe best inbound passer i've ever seen

Weird nobody is starting Kris or Tony threads after a game like that but I think Connor's game resonates with slow, gravity bound guys all over. Good showing by him tonight

Edit: Seriously, those of you who keep spelling his name wrong are stupid AF. Get it right, dipshits. Same with Caitlin

Why do you hate fun? Konnor wouldn’t mind, he’d probably laugh about it.

Actually, I had a classmate that spelled his name that way. Whatever! Some of you are having fun but some of you enjoy being dicks, internet tough guys and wizards. It's the reason I dropped my lounge membership after many years. The board became too toxic. This room is that times ten. I almost always avoid game threads.

Now back to Connor. Many on this board were bitching about nepotism. It wouldn't take much to associate that claim with some in this thread. In fact, nepotism was used for Patrick as well. It's interesting that we found out he was suffering from anxiety. It doesn't take a genius to realize what anxiety does to sleep patterns, energy, and a host of other things. People bagged on Connor for several years. Our team wouldn't be very good without him. He probably is responsible for several wins himself.

Instead of supporting players, people on here call them garbage and a waste of a scholarship. People were calling to bench Perkins and Sandfort and were trashing them too. They already had proven he could play. Now people are back on the bandwagon!

The same thing is true on the football side of things. People love being Monday morning quarterbacks. Most of those have never played beyond high school and would pee their pants if they had to make a decision under pressure. People call out players. Maybe a better way would be "we have to find out ways to improve our Oline" instead of _________ is garbage.

I won't stoop to your level and call those out in this thread. You know who is actually a dick and so do many others. Some will feel free to be dicks again and criticize my post. I have a theory that many on here know I'm right.

Connor is the swiss army knife that every team needs and every winning team has. He is very unselfish, is willing and capable of guarding positions 1-5, can run the point, doesn't turn it over, gets everyone involved, can hit 3's as well as acting like the enforcer. He is a guy that makes everyone better and makes the team better in really every way. Anybody that doesn't see it now will certainly see it in the future when he is gone.

I made some really good goat cheese and cranberry stuffed chicken last night and then had popcorn for the game.

What's a wizard? That actually sounds like a good thing.

In Connor's first year on the team he had some injuries or ailments and someone, maybe in a tweet and not here, actually berated him for not getting well soon enough. And pretty sure it was for real, not joking. As for nepotism, not unusual for coaches to have their kids on their team. See Michigan for example.

My post above was obviously in jest. The nepotism angle isn’t really a big thing here, both Connor and Patrick were 4* recruits, so they were legit. Connor has been up and down overall - he was great when he was post-feeding Garza, then he was a weakness when he lost all confidence in his shot. Since he’s been willing to shoot even a little, he’s been back to being a versatile plus. He will definitely be missed next year.

I love Conor, he’s taken a lot of heat over the years, but he’s proven to be a valuable asset.
@IowasLaw has to be rolling in his grave seeing how Connor is playing and having to hope that changes so that he can come back on here after the season and tell us all he told us so and nepotism and what not.................

Oh wait sorry, he'll "wait for things to play out". ;)

Edit: What's stupid AF is the fact that you think spelling their names wrong is a big deal. Get off your pedestal.

Connor has busted his butt to be a better player this year and I commend him for that but when the player who plays the second most minutes on the team at 33 delivers a 2/4/5 line and struggles on defense like he did, that is a big reason why your team has 10 losses with 4 still left to play. He's had plenty of these games.

When the two top players have below average games you need others to step up and there's plenty of blame to go around there but the guy getting 33 mins deserves plenty of it. It's nice to have good games VS the league cellar dwellers but the Hawks need a 6th year guy to step up in games like this.

I will say I was proud of him for being the only McCaffery in the house to not get a tech (3) or ejection (2) as his whining to refs has always been a pet peeve of mine... he's been better there. With this thin roster Iowa is going to need CM at the top of his game rest of way, hope he can step up
