Well our daughter continues to be super tall. She's 9 months old tomorrow and she's 31 1/2" tall. Which is amazing when you compare her to the curve set out by the CDC. AT her age 29 1/2" is 95th percentile. She'd have to get two inches shorter just to drop into the 95th percentile.

Anyways this brings up a problem for us because the infant car seat we use for her now is only good until she's 32 inches. So we have to get a convertible car seat for her.

Any recommendations on a good safe one that's comfortable for the kid but also easy to take apart and clean. The boy is in this car seat right now. http://safety1st.djgusa.com/en/djgu...cts/elite-3-in-1-80-air-plus---elian-cc074bzx

And the big problem with that car seat is that it is very difficult to take apart and put back together. I had to take it apart last week to clean it because he got car sick in it and it took me 30 min to take apart and an hour to put back together and it required Allen wrenches to do so. I like the car seat other then that, but I'd really like to see if there isn't anything out there that can be taken apart and cleaned a little easier.

You can clean car seats? Interesting idea, but I will pass.
Yeah, I usually just turn them upside down and tap it a few times to get all the goldfish and fruit snacks out then a quick wipe down with a Lysol wipe and its good to go.

We have a couple Graco Nautiluses.

Works fine when you are cleaning up goldfish and fruit snacks. Vomit and feces however is a different beast all together. We havn't had any major diaper blowouts in the car seat thanks be to God, but our son has gotten car sick twice in his. And that typically means putting all the fabric parts of the car seat through the washer.

With his current car seat taking it apart and putting it back together to do this is a pain in the rear.

Put a garbage bag over the kid.

Get a Britax, they're really good. You can get them at babies 'r' us.
Picked up two of the Recaro ProRides for my 4 month old. They are really nice car seats. My wife has a Britax in her car and I have a Diono in mine for our 3.5 year old son. I like the Recaro better than those. They just seemed to cover the small complaints I had for each of the other seats. Having said that the other two brands are really good also.

Recaro makes seats for race cars, so they definitely know safety and comfort. The only concern I would have with it is that it is big, so you want to have a car with average or better back seat space. Also, read the manual before trying to install.

You win the Internet award for the most effort to camouflage a subtle brag. But keep hanging on that 95% thing. You are almost assured she will have a full ride scolly before she turns 5.

My car seat story. So living in Denver back in the 1980s I am leaving work and waiting for stopped traffic to get a green light. The guy stopped sideways in front of me has a little two seater Miata with a child seat on the passenger side and a for sale sign in the window. Didn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out how his life had been changed forever.

second this recommendation, thats what we have and we like it. They are easy to install and transfer if needed.

The only negative is trying to carry the damn thing through the airport and installing onto an airplane. That blew

Well I'm gonna teach her to play basketball. . . however I'm a little worried for her actually. I know really tall girls can often have a hard time dating and so I don't want her to go through that. And on the more selfish nature I don't want to be the dad that's shorter then his daughter. I'm ok with my son being taller but I'd never pictured by daughter towering over me.

Our kids have always been bigger then average starting when they where born. The boy was 11 pounds 4 oz and I think she was 10 lbs 8 oz. But the boy eventually started tapering off to about the 75th percentile in size. Our daughter . . . she's always been 100th percentile in length.

I don't think God controls diaper blowouts.
