Cook!

Need to call a play for Cook DUNK early tomorrow! That brings out the King Kong Good Cook.

Cook showed tonight why some people have been questioning him. He has this kind of talent, but he hasn't used it. He rebounded, he blocked shots, and he played with fire all night long. That's the Cook who's been AWOL too often. Glad to see he's back, and just in time.

Yes, love it when Tyler is aggressive like he was tonight ! When He plays like this, it fires up the entire team !

Hopefully, this team is viewing March as a new season and has a second wind.

I do think Fran needs to figure out in the offseason why his teams tend to fade late in the season. Whether it's mental fatigue or conditioning throughout the season, he needs to figure it out.

What was most encouraging to see last night was the defensive effort. Odd how intensity on defense and rebounding generate offense.

I have a theory about Cook, and expect to find out that I am correct after the season ends. I don't believe Cook is fully healthy. He does not have the same explosion/vertical off the floor this past month or more. In years past, his elbow has been above, or at the very least, at the rim on his monster dunks/blocks. Even on his good dunks last night, his elbow was 3-4 inches below the rim.

When Iowa's offense is stagnant and guys aren't making shots it is very easy to play off others and double Cook thus taking away the room he needs to operate. When Iowa has good spacing, moves the ball and makes shots it opens up the paint for Cook (basketball 101). The anti-Cook posts in here continue to baffle me. Certainly has areas for improvement but who else on this team is capable of doing what that dude can do athletically? Answer: Nobody.

I am not a Fran fan but I will give him credit for getting Cook. Dude is a difference maker athletically and without him I doubt this team is even on the NIT bubble. Garza is a defensive liability and when he isn't shooting well needs to sit. Kriener is more athletic and does a nice job on D but is hit or miss offensively. Cook has to force the issue at times and it's not him being selfish. Fran has said numerous times (including last night) that he wants Cook with the ball in his hands because he makes plays for himself and others. Cook loaded shooters up multiple times last because of his ability to drive.

I’ve been so disappointed with his play the last 6 games but he showed up tonight. He played with tons of energy and definitely lifted the team tonight.

It was GOOD COOK tonight. Moss and Connor played ok and didn’t hurt us either. Hope they got their confidence and mojo back.
Conner played ok?

8 assists 1 TO and made a three

I would say that is a great game

They didn’t have a big to match up with him. His struggles come when he faces a Fernando, Wesson, or Ward

Yeah that's a big part of it.

Fernando is understandable since hes as athletic but bigger.

The other are

Looked totally fine last night

You just answered your own question.

Hes capable of playing like last night against most teams. Where the fvck has the effort been?

Why is this difficult for you to understand?

Those who want Cook and Moss gone seem to think they'll be easy to replace. But there aren't many people out there who can jump like Cook or shoot like Moss.
