Cooper DeJean goes #40 overall to Philadelphia (8th Pick of 2nd Round). Signed 4 Year/ $9,283,622 Contract, which included a $3,571,724 Signing Bonus

Can't believe he made it a whole season ... was hurt at Iowa 1/2 the time. Good position foe him just covering the slot, do not have to worry about tackling in open field, just a few hitches and slot receiver in NFL is the 4th option usually. This should keep him healthy.

He was actually hurt the entire training camp and missed the first 4 weeks of the season. Not sure what you are talking about on not tackling in the open field. He is like a 3rd linebacker making lots of tackles in the flat, and that was one of his major calling cards this year, making critical open field tackles against the best receivers in the NFL.

You realize he got hurt in practice, on offense, running some type of reverse for Brian right?!?

Brian was the "gift" that kept on giving....

Cost Cooper a lot of money....

:(
Well, to be fair, the entire fanbase was clamoring for him to play offense, Kirk and team finally relented and a freak thing happens. Pretty amazing a kid from a 1A HS population around 1,000 playing in a Super Bowl where most can only dream of!

Yeah, that is true. On a tangent, now that he's playing at a pro bowl level at the slot cb, I wouldn't mind if they took away punt return duties. I just don't think the risk of injury is worth it. I would rather have some backup receiver out there.

The entire fan base was clamoring for it because Brian Ferentz had run our offense off a cliff. It was painful to watch.

Not sure what your watching, He's made some nice open field tackles in the league just like Iowa. He's not a DB thats afraid to bring the lumber...
I got the Sunday ticket 2 years ago to watch all lions and 49ers games. I kept it this year to watch them and coop now with the eagles. I have seen every eagles game this year and I don’t think he watched more than one eagles game, if that. There’s a reason he is a finalist for rookie DPOTY and universally praised by the game announcers, not to mention Philly fans and media. He played as well at as tough of a position (both mentally and physically) that you could ask of rooks, let alone most vets.
