Cowherd, windbag or genius..?

The fact of the matter is that he is wrong. Last year Iowa went undefeated by playing their hearts out and leaving everything on the field. Who cares if they weren't good enough to win the Rose Bowl or be in the CFP. They maxed out their potential on the season and for that they should be proud of themselves and not have to hear it from a shock jock who was yesterday's news.

Iowa has scheduled great in the past. They have scheduled Pitt, Syracuse, Arizona, Arizona St. all in the very recent past. The fact that they have moved to 9 conference games makes scheduling tough when you have to play a home and home against ISU. Isn't Iowa's fault who they play in the conference as that is out of their hands.

Iowa picked up the phone and dialed Nebraska in 1999 & 2000 when they were #1 so Colin is wrong. Somebody please tweet that at him. TIA.

That video is something every fan, player and coach associated with the Iowa program NEEDS to hear.

It is the truth and it's time to face the music.

For fan's it's 100% trolling. None of us have ANYTHING to do with the scheduling and to believe otherwise is foolish. At the end of the day even if the season ticket holders started abandoning those games, I think there are still going to be plenty of people who don't care as much to fill the seats.

Iowa had nothing to be ashamed of last year but it was clear they weren't on par with the top teams in the country, and were more a result of a luck in close games and an easy schedule. Teams shouldn't be rewarded for playing easier schedules. He was right last year, we were the Fake ID team of college football last year.

Cowherd is a lot of things, but in this case he is correct.

hard to argue with him when he's correct. last year I wasn't a fan of him, but this year he is speaking the truth. We don't challenge ourselves and we do schedule cupcakes. We got beat and he has every right to gloat and say he was right.

The 9 conference games excuse is laughable. That leaves 3 out of conference games.

Back in the day when we had 11 games, we had 8 conference opponents.

There was only a brief time with 12 games and 8 conference games.

The point is that we have more often than not had only 3 non conference games.

There is no excuse to schedule NDSU and UNI.

Like most of his analogies they don't make much sense. Fake ID implies you are doing something illegal to skirt the system. Iowa did nothing illegal and won the games on their schedule. He is a shock jock who only says stuff to get fans into a tizzy. He is a troll. Nothing more nothing less.

Fake ID implies you're a fraud. Scheduling FCS, MAC and ISU pretty much cements that.

How were they a fraud? Because they won all the games on their schedule? It isn't Iowa's fault that the Big Ten decided to go full retard and add Maryland and Rutgers and switch up the divisions. They have no control over their conference schedule.

He's completely classless and makes a living off bullying college kids who play their hearts out every week. His logic is always God awful and easily countered, like, how many cupcakes does Alabama schedule a year? Where's his bitching on that?

If he had an IQ higher than a potato he'd stop going after Iowa and start complaining about the journalists and AP voters that lifted Iowa up as some great team instead. All we did was come out and play every week, no more no less. And does he think Iowa had control over what conference division they were put in? That's all on the B1G committee.

He's anti-Iowa because he felt threatened by our presence. This anti-poser rhetoric he's trying to use to cover it up is laughable at best.

Coward has always been a nobody and always will be.

You mean cupcakes like USC, Penn State, Wisconsin? Those cup cakes...

He felt threatened by Iowa, yes that Stanford game really showed him.......sheesh

It implies you don't really belong. Like Iowa among the CFB elite.

I mean the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Kent State Golden Flashes, Kentucky Wildcats, and the Chattanooga Mocs. All cupcakes!

Doesn't matter if they're in conference or not, Colin did the same with Iowa when talking about Rutgers, Purdue, etc. Only using his shit logic.

I would be ok playing all of those teams if we didn't play Iowa State for our big non conference game. Also look at it this way, our conference chose to go to 9 games every season they didn't.

Now, if you're trying to bash Alabama on them playing cupcakes ok...... But remember they have won 4 national championships in 5 years and have beat and destroyed some very heavy hitters. Iowa, not so much.

Take the goggles off, our scheduling is weak

Goggles have always been off. Our scheduling is weak. I'd love to see us play Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, Texas, etc. on a yearly basis.

But when he specifically rips Iowa for doing something that his oh-so perfect schools do too, that's when I've got a problem. I don't really care how successful these programs are, if they schedule cupcakes, dipshit cowturd should be calling them out just as much.

There's a difference tho, he ripped us for not playing a legitimate team. Based on week 1 and 3 of this years games, how can you argue with that?

He ripped us for padding our schedule with 3-4 easy teams. How many other schools are doing that too? Then he has the gal to rip our conference schedule in which Iowa has no power over.

I do agree that we need to stop scheduling these no name teams like ISU and NDSU, but singling out Iowa while worshipping other schools that are doing the same is complete crap.

In the end, the guy's logic is that of a pouty child.

It's amazing how much run these guys get out of our fanbase, we fall for it again and again hook line and sinker. IMO It's not a good look for the state, makes us look like rubes.

Well, right he said we padded our schedule (we did). And acted offended no one was taking us serious (we were). He called us out on it. Then when it came time to play an actual team (Stanford) we got embarrassed. He basically said "told ya so".

Then this year he compared our non conference to the other schools, which looks pitiful. The only problem is we got beat by one of those schools that was supposed to be a cupcake.

He picked against Iowa in almost every game last year and then was finally right. I'm sorry, but he is just a troll who is begging for ratings.

I listen to his show almost everyday. He didn't start talking about Iowa until they were like 8-0 or 9-0 last season. Then he had Iowa fans calling in about respecting their program and trying to tweet him constantly.

It's easy to troll a fanbase when they are offended so easily.

Everything he said is true. We've known that we've had a cupcake out of conference schedule for years. Nothing against Iowa. It's just the truth.

As a comparison to other P5 schools, this is absolutely not true. Aside from one year(caused by Missouri's cancelation) in the Ferentz era, we have played 2/4 non-conference games against P5/BCS opponents. Always ISU plus another decent P5 school. There are very few other P5 schools that can make a similar claim over that time frame. Just looking at this year, only 1 of the 6 ranked SEC teams(Georgia) play more than 1 of their 4 non-conference games against P5 schools. They are still on an 8 game conference schedule too.

The only thing that changed this year, was the Big Ten went to a 9 game conference schedule at the same time ISU produced their worst team in 20 years.

The ISU home and home is now the problem and needs to go.

The problem isnt ISU. While ISU is struggling this year, and Iowa thoroughly dominated them this year, playing ISU has hardly been a cakewalk for Iowa. Isn't Ferentz 9-9 vs lowly ISU?

If Iowa wants to be considered an elite program, they need to start scheduling better. Do they need to try to schedule an Alabama, Clemson, or another top 5-type rogram. No! But how about (for example) an Arkansas, Oklahoma State, or North Carolina?

Im sure this is easier said than done, but its obviously not a priority to Ferentz or Barta.

A school like ISU needs to schedule lower tier programs (San Jose St) to hopefully win games right now. Iowa is WELL beyond that and needs to start acting like it.

Even as an avid ISU fan, i hope they never cancel the series. Even though a win is unlikely (despite splitting the last 18), I would rather they play + lose (this year badly) to Iowa than play another Power 5 school.

ISU isnt the problem.

NDSU isnt the problem. Losing to them was. If that field goal hits the uprights, all is well in Iowa City and this discussion doesnt exist.

The problem is Miami of Ohio and other directional type schools that Iowa schedules to pad their record.
