CR is the best city in Iowa

It is alright.

I moved over this way 20ish years ago so I know the area much better now. Most of it is good to very good but has some really crummy parts. They have upped their game post flood and is starting to become a more attractive place to live and go out.

Yeah sure if you enjoy not having anything family friendly to enjoy. Im sure families hope that casino gets passed so they can take the kids gambling.

It’s what makes it great. It’s like a real life haunted house.

Even from an extremely lame poster this is lame. OMG there are a couple murders per year in a town of 200k?! Oh no! Better take your fragile white azz back to Solon :D. Rural Iowa has a higher murder rate. Better find yourself a bunker to hide in!

And OP is right. CR has minor league sports year round, decent concert venues now, many very good restaurants, a thriving arts district, and if you live on the South or West sides, its less than half an hour to Iowa City/Coralville and all they have to offer.

The lowest level of minor league sports. How exciting. Des Moines has high end minor league sports and an amusement park, zoo and all of the things you mentioned Cedar Rapids having. CR has crap for entertainment.

Prety sure you can find this in most cities across the country.

An amusement park? LOL. As far as minor league sports, far from lowest level. At our (now) High-A program we've had Mike Trout, Byron Buxton, Jean Sagura, Mike Clevinger, Joe Mauer, on our team alone the last 15 years. In that same time span I've seen Bo Bichette, Kevin Pillar, Andy Pages, Eloy Jimenez, Alek Thomas, etc. At Junior-A hockey level we've had multiple NHL players and Stanley Cup winners both play for, and come through Cedar Rapids. The USHL is the best junior hockey league in the US. We see multiple future stars.

What about an amusement park? You don’t think Des Moines has one? It’s a water park as well. Another thing Cedar Rapids doesn’t have.
So you named a bunch of guys that had to start somewhere. Plus the kernels just moved up to high a last season. Some of those guys you mentioned like Buxton and trout played low a ball and were here for roughly 15-20 games before they moved up.
Pretty sure Joe Mauer played one game maybe two on a rehab assignment and that was because his brother was coaching the kernels at the time. What other shit excuses do you have that makes Cedar Rapids not suck?
