crazy weather in Iowa

Parts of Iowa may get drought buster catch-up rains tomorrow, and the extended has maybe a lot more this coming weekend.

Iowa-Wisconsin might be a dreary rainy afternoon of football.

My Dad would have hated the changing of the seasons (and the global warming stuff). He was maintenance guy at a senior living facility and they had a boiler system - so they could only switch once. He was always inundated with complaints about it being too cold or too hot.

I thought of this last night as I changed by Nest mode from ‘Heat Only’ back to ‘Heat and Cool’ yesterday, from my phone

This has been the weather in the spring and fall my entire life in Iowa and I’m 40. Pretty sure people have run the heat and a/c in the same day (if they had a/c) for longer than 40 years.

I have zero issue with weather as it pertains to my indoor comfortability or soup intake. If the soup is good I'll eat it in 100 degree weather. I'll add or remove clothing inside as I need.

My beef with weather fluctuation is every spring and fall I end up with a nasty ass cold or sinus infection. At Kinnick this weekend I was sniffling so bad that the college kid in front of me in the bathroom line asked "you have any?"

My wife's been complaining that the house has been so cold the last week, probably around 65. I'll pop the windows open today to get it warmed up before the colder weather returns on Thursday. Heat and A/C ain't free.
62 in the house one morning when we woke up. That was the tipping point to turn the furnace on, but set the thermostat for 65.

I plan on being electric. At least 8 beers electric. And, the atmosphere will be raucous in Kinnick.

Wife (you don't want a pic) said last week when it was cooler she was making chili.
Ended up with spaghetti last night. 72 up here in NW Wisconsin today.

I hope you've found some people to drink with, I'd hate to read another " I'm drinking alone again story. Tears at my heartstrings..."
