cut the cord (dish network)

Left Dish a little over a year ago. YouTubeTV, Netflix, and Amazon Prime are all we need.

This, plus we put an antenna up in the attic, so we now get Chicago and Milwaukee broadcast stations. Most specifically WGN, which does not participate in any of the streaming services.

Did you get Hulu Live? I hear that’s the best for live sports.

I understand why Dish is moving away from paying those high sports carriage fees, but when I move next month, I’m canceling. I really liked Dish, but now I can’t watch the Cubs or Blackhawks or the NFL Metwork.

Agree, I mooched a Marquee Network login using my parents Mediacom account. I'm not too worried about the NFL Network since it's usually easy to find free stream online for those games (if we have football).

I’m really enjoying the Fire Stick 4K, if you haven’t taken advantage of the $25 off Amazon deal I would suggest you do so.

I decided to upgrade both my old Roku and the build in smart app technology on another TV because the fire stick is so much faster and easier to use.
fire stick is faster than Roku? We have a few Roku and I think they are outstanding.

not sure. Mine was a Roku3 that was probably 7-8 years old.

it was super slow compared to the fire stick. Now there is very little lag to open apps. Plus the Roku couldn’t even control the stereo volume so I had to use two remotes.

Ours controls volume, are 4K, and seem fast. Best remote and screen design too in IMHO but let’s face it there are no bad choices anymore, just different ones.
