Delay between sessions 3 and 4

it has to suck, I'm sitting at home and struggling to pass the time until finals. Not to mention this bball game between Nebby and jNW will no doubt go into 2OT.

I got up and walked around and saw people I know...I planned for a whole day...seriously yesterday it took an hour to get on a shuttle bus to go downtown...what exactly were people expecting to do during the time?

It's a 15 minute walk downtown from CHA. That's your own fault if waited 1 hr for the shuttle.

They should have started the sessions at 1 so there would have only been a 20 minute gap and yes it is a huge inconvenience. Poor planning regardless of who is to blame. The shuttle service was hilarious. Picked us up. Drove around Carver picked up 10 more people got yelled at by the staff that we weren't packed in tight enough. Then got dropped off downtown. Overall awesome weekend. Great to have 2 champs and both juniors.

Ummmm this is a B1G event. They make these decisions not the U of I.

Lol at anyone who couldn't wait. Are you really that inconvenienced?
Other than the overpriced concessions, uncomfortable seating, long lines at the pisser and extremely limited access to my phones data, no.

We sat downtown and had drinks until about 2:30. Maybe we're bad fans, but we definitely were not going to sit through that delay and have crappy, expensive food at Carver.

The 90 gap was terrible with no re-entry. carver does not have wide areas when you have 13,000 people walking them, throw in the ice cream lines and every standing around, it was poorly planned. Given that cell service is almost impossible in that building. I stood in a doorway with my phone outside the door and still could not get a signal. University needs to get in 21st century for technology.

The rent a cops handling traffic were terrible. We left after the last match on Sat night when there were probably 500 fans left and parking lot had less than 10% of cars and we still did not move in parking lot due to these fake cops stupidity in directing traffic. People could have done better without their minimal talent

First world problems.

We live in an age of instant gratification and this thread is living proof. I'd rather not have had to do it but I guess it wasn't a life changing event for me like it was for others.

We are diehard fans, was there today and left after the morning session. We drive from DSM regularly for 90% of the home meets and have attended NCAA's 7 out of last 9 years- so we understand the inconvenience of travel alone and "get it"! In saying that, the accommodations made for TV today and for NCAA have made finals for these events insufferable (YES, I agree first world problems!).

I am by NO means proud of leaving but we chose to leave as we were also able to get home before Sorenson's match. We watched 125, 133, 141 via B1G2GO app on the ride home and then cheered loudly for Sammy and Burak from the confines of our home. We were able to fully enjoy our day versus getting home around 7:30/8 and sitting idle for nearly 2 hours with crappy food only to see what is essentially a dual meet take over 3 hours. Last year we left St. Louis after the Saturday AM session to get home and watch the finals on DVR for the exact same reason. Sure we would have liked to see it/supported the Hawks ALL the way through, but at some point common sense needs to prevail!

The delays caused by TV is NOT good for in person viewership on ANY level. I will lobby to athletic department to speak loudly against these LONG finals to no avail, but our voices do need to be heard. I know they want to increase the visibility of the sport and advertisements are needed, but it has really gotten out of control.
