The NCAA has been derided and pretty much blasted for quite awhile.
The OU/Tx thing pretty much highlights how powerless the NCAA is.....in CFB the inmates (Leagues) pretty much run the asylum and personally I don't like the direction things are heading.
How long before the NCAA loses it's pull in CBB? Right now they have the NCAA tournament which is a very lucrative enterprise and gives it a say in CBB. How long does that last?
Say what you want but the NCAA used to provide a framework that leagues and schools had to abide by however flawed it was....that's rapidly going away. What's to prevent the SEC saying F it....we're going to 100+ scholarships in football? Basically nothing the way things are heading....
Ultimately I can see this development wrecking College athletics (money sports).
Not sure what the answer is cuz it's pretty much water under the bridge at this point but I think we're gonna miss the old NCAA days....
