Democrats Upset After State Turns Down $69 Million in Rebates

"We do not believe it is in the best interest of the state to hire new employees supported with temporary federal funding, especially knowing that in two or three years the program may be discontinued, resulting in staff layoffs."

You contract the work out, you f’n moran.

Do you guys remember Bill Clinton’ program for 100,000 cops on the streets? Everybody thought this is great, except after everybody went all in the cities and states found out the federal government would just pay for one year. Then it was up to the cities and states that accepted the funds to pay for it themselves. They could not afford it.

It still has to be paid for, the funds have to come from somewhere.

It would be nice of the feds simply returned this taxpayer money back to the people they took it from in the first place.

"We do not believe using federal taxpayer funds to entice people to switch from one appliance to another is a good policy and it should not be influenced or subsidized by the government."

The Republican Governor's Conference has made a conscious effort to try and make the WH/Fed programs a non factor in improving things because it might make Democrats look good.

Pure political bullshit.

You can bet your ass if this happened in 2018, Noem would have taken every penny with a smile on her face.

She's just mad. She did everything she could to get Donnie to notice her, and maybe grab her by the p***y so she could be his VP. Now she's stuck in flyover country like a nobody.
She should have gotten Trump's head on Rushmore.

Helping people upgrade their appliances to more energy efficient options is exactly what needs to be happening.
