A-holes? I think so and I'm pro gay marriage.

Some Denver City Council members have stalled consideration of Chick-fil-A’s bid for a 7-year concession to operate a restaurant at the Denver International Airport, citing the company's stance against same-sex marriage.

According to the Denver Post, Business Development Committee member Paul Lopez believes that having the chicken chain at the airport is a “moral issue on the city.”

Openly gay councilwoman Robin Kniech, while addressing the council Tuesday, said: “We really want to look into the policies and practices of these companies, and just make sure that they conform to ours in the city, the State of Colorado. We have a marriage decision nationally. This is really about policies and it's about practices.”

During the meeting none of the 10 members in attendance defended Chick-fil-A.

Kniech later told the Denver Post she was worried about a franchise in Denver generating “corporate profits used to fund and fuel discrimination.”

In 2012, Chick-fil-A's president Dan Cathy said that the "biblical definition of the family unit" did not include same-sex marriage.

If they actually look into the policies and practices of Chick-fil-A, they’ll beg them to go into the Denver Airport.

If Chick-Fil-A as a business was shown to discriminate hiring workers or serving customers based on sexual orientation than there would be a legitimate issue. Since there's no proof that they do, I don't find any basis for the state to deny them opening a store in the airport.

Chick-fil-a has some of friendliest employees if not THE friendliness employess of all fast food restaurants.

You know what I said was extremely accurate those freaks have zero tolerance for anyone and anything that disagrees with their views. Nazi like.

The organized political arm of the LGBT movement could be a little less strident and confrontational. Sometimes I feel like they're looking for fights. I say live and let live.

How many Jews has the Denver City Council killed? Do they have a special salute and wear military uniforms? Are they in favor of eugenics and discriminating against the disabled? Has Denver embarked on a program of land expansion utilizing its military forces?

Do you actually know what a Nazi is or are you just a moron?

Wait, don't. Answer that. I already know.

Hyperbolic, but to be fair there are groups out there that do this sort of thing. . . hunt down anyone who disagrees with them and destroy them in any legal means necessary.

This is something that is bothering me about the internet age. Yes freedom of speech only applies to the government not arresting you. But one has to consider that if a group can legally dox you causing you to receive anonymous death threats, lose your source of income, have people protesting right outside your front door etc. Then do you really have freedom of speech anymore? Is it a freedom when one can legitimately fear violent death and nearly permanent loss of income/future for excersizing it?

Chik-Fil-A will survive because they are a large company. And people with money don't have to worry about this as much.

But ordinary people it's scary. People get fired for holding views that 5 years ago was the majority view of the American public and was nominally the view of the POTUS. And if your company doesn't immediately fire you for holding these wrong views the internet mobs can literally harass your employer into firing you. Which your employer does, not necessarily because those views are a problem for their business but because the only way to get the internet mobs off their back is to get rid of you.

I really detest the internet mobs in nearly all cases, all they do is destroy people's lives and it makes them feel morally superior. They don't do anything to fix the problem. Getting a racist fired from his job and rendering him for the rest of his life nearly unemployable isn't going to convince the guy to stop being a racist. It's only likely to make him sink deeper into his hatred and seek out and communicate with those who openly hold such hateful views.

Yes they are on a mission to destroy anything good or decent you must not get out of Muscatine very often.

Don't be so stupid.

I honestly don't care one way or the other regarding the restaurant or the Denver airport. But, to paraphrase the frequent response of many who think it's OK for businesses to refuse service for same-sex couples, wouldn't a logical reply to Chik-Fil-A be "go find another airport"?

As long as the company isn't making discriminatory policy, I dont think it is the city council's job to make that decision based on the beliefs of the CEO.

It shows a lack of intelligence on your part to compare some extremist LGBT advocates to Nazis.

I've come to expect that from you, though.
You know I'm correct I am always correct and you just keep marching lock step to whatever tune these looney Nazi type hate groups like LGBT spouts.

Sad truly sad.

You're obviously too stupid to understand your limitations. Bigotry has no place in American society.

Sad, truly sad.
The Denver City Council person is a bigot as is most of the LGBT leaders and many of the lemmings who follow.

Bigot definition, a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, ...

Fits the LGBT leaders to a T.

You've just defined yourself.

It would be better for you if you just realized you're too immature to discuss issues beyond the academic level of Sponge Bob Square Pants.

Actually I described the vast majority of the liberal wacko right.

As others have posted, so long as they are not discriminating against customers based on their sexual orientation, there's no issue with allowing them a spot in the airport. But they should also be prevented from discriminating against prospective gay employees, including employee benefits (e.g. a manager who is gay should be afforded health/insurance benefits for a same-sex partner just as a straight manager would for a spouse).

The bigger issue is if they will allow this prospective franchise to be open on Sundays to serve the travelers 7 days a week, or at least be consistent with other food vendors in the airport regarding days of service - if the airport allows other vendors to close on Sundays or specific Christian holidays, then there's no problem with allowing ChickFilA the same deal. If all vendors are required to be open certain minimum hours every day, then ChickFilA is probably out of luck...regardless, the city council needs to be consistent in their approach, regardless of the CEOs Christian 'beliefs'. I don't agree with him, but I still stop there on occasion because they have great food and service.

Only time I ever ate ChikFilA was when I won a $10 gift card to the place. It was OK, but nothing I'd race back for. I suppose it could be the individual restaurant as I'm sure there is some variability (this one was at Westdale Mall in CR).

^THIS Bob_Pelini/Arbitr8 is a joke. Wonder how long it will take this tool to get banned and have to find yet another username. Funny, because as we watched the "I am Cait" program yesterday, my wife and I were impressed with how grounded and level-headed the head of the trans organization was. Quite tolerant of Jenner's more Conservative leanings. I know, quite impressive from a "freak" (oh the irony of Bob-Pelini calling anyone ELSE a freak!)

Anyway, I'll stray from the crowd and say that IF they are sincere into looking at company practices and where money from profits ends up, then I have no problem with this moral stance. On the other hand, if it is just to posture or attack the CEOs personal position (as some have speculated) then I'll say to Hell with 'em.

That's your opinion I have mine and yes it is very clear the liberal wackos want nobody to speak ill of anything or any part of their agenda to destroy America.

And your opinion is whacko.

You see, two can play your game.
You made my point anyone who disagrees with the liberal wacko agenda is called names and attempted to be put down. Either you goose step with these liberal loonies or try to silence you.

There's a word you should try to define: sarcasm.
You apparently don't realize that others don't take you seriously because of these immature rants of yours.
Grow up a bit and lose the hyperbole, and maybe your points will be taken seriously.
