Depth Chart for Maryland: Cade is QB1 & Jackson Stratton QB2

I will never understand how, after 2002 (and Brad Banks), KF went away from dual threat QBs

At the end of the day, QB1 and QB2 right now are really QB2 and QB3. This is the only scenario where I'd be okay with bringing McNamara back. If he plays just OK, which he can, we stand a chance of going 2-0 to end the regular season. Conversely, if jNW CM shows up again we could be looking 0-2 in the face.

i just hope we don't have a lot of "what the hell were they doing during the bye week" comments in the game thread and after
I don't have current numbers but I read that Kirk was 2-8 in road games following a bye week as of 2018. They obviously lost this year so I would assume it's still pretty deep in the red. It's certainly not an advantage.

If the Hawkeyes played Maryland today, Jackson Stratton would be their starter.

But Cade McNamara is cleared to play, and Marco Lainez is available. Iowa's "clearly cloudy" quarterback situation somehow gets even weirder.

He kind of reminds me of Stanzi with his look and his build. Hope he can play that way.

"[Cade] is still processing back," Ferentz said. "He has been cleared to play, and whether or not he can play effectively or not, we'll see. We'll just see how the week goes. But we're prepared for anything, quite frankly."

I think we all know the answer to the question on whether or not Cade can play effectively.....

Sounds like Sully could be back for the bowl game.

As another poster has suggested maybe Lester convinced Kirk to go with Stratton. His comments about Cade may represent a way to talk around that. Murky as it all may seem things sound better than they did with Sullivan not likely lost for the season and Lainez starting to work his way back.

I don't like that that put Cade at QB1 if he's still not right in the head (literally)

Yeah please god don't let it be an SEC team for the bowl game. The days of beating ranked SEC teams is over for Kirk in the NIL era. Last year Tennessee had some freshman QB that probably cost a pretty penny and he absolutely destroyed us.
I think the cost was $8 million for Nico Iamaleava
