DeSantis

Weird. RDS supporters were adamant this was ok because it only applied to K-3.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Board of Education approved a ban on classroom instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in all grades on Wednesday, expanding the law critics call “Don’t Say Gay” at the request of Gov. Ron DeSantis as he gears up for an expected presidential run.

The proposal will take effect after a procedural notice period that lasts about a month, according to an education department spokesman.

The rule change would ban lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity through 12th grade, unless required by existing state standards or as part of reproductive health instruction that students can choose not to take. Florida currently bans such lessons in kindergarten through third grade.

The DeSantis administration put forward the proposal last month as part of the Republican’s aggressive conservative agenda, as DeSantis leans heavily into cultural divides ahead of his looming White House candidacy.

Our gas station governor runs a state that's out of gas

Panic buying ran Miami and FL out of gasoline. Just like financial markets there are times of panic buying and selling. There is no need to make sh*t up.

----------

Here I will make some sh*t up.
I tried to buy a couple pieces of property in SW Florida recently and I was out bid both times. I know that damn DeSantis let my
competition know what my bids were. That SOB anyway.

Tell that to the people in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach who can't find gas. Liddle Marco is crying on Twitter about this made up story.

Hell, we went through it here with the derecho and SW Florida with Hurricane Ian. Problems find remedies by people not complaining and looking for solutions. Sometimes solutions are not easy.

Tell that to Liddle Marco and Tater Tot. They are the two most powerful people in the state. One is crying on Twitter about no gas in South Florida. The other is MIA. He is assumed to be up north somewhere raising money from out of state knuckle-draggers as that apparently more rewarding than getting his ass handed to him by Bob Iger and more important than dealing with the gas problem.

These are Tweets from a friend of mine here who is one of the staunches Republicans I know. I'm not going to quote the tweet because I don't want his name out there without asking him first. If Ronnie is losing people like him, he is truly in trouble.

Calm down Ron

Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida lawmakers ratcheted up pressure on Walt Disney World by announcing legislation that would create unprecedented oversight on the park resort’s rides and monorail. https://apnews.com/article/disney

Honestly, it's too much. He got his legislation and day in the national news already. This is just government overreach and absurd. Potentially taking land from Disney and building a prison or a state park.? Really?

Aren’t you moving to Michigan or some blue state?
If only the people on here knew that you’re a weirdo who spends 20 hours a day on social media...

What is he doing to shore up Florida's infrastructure as the effects of climate change set in? Why not return to Florida to lead for a day or two to coordinate a response and marshal resources?
This literally is his job, but he wants another job instead, so he was touring other states interviewing for the job he really wants while Floridians suffered.

Published this afternoon:

MIAMI (FLV) – The DeSantis administration has deployed another 500,000 gallons of fuel to help relieve Southeast Florida gas line backups.

The total deployed by the Florida government now stands at one million gallons.

Fuel deployment for the flood disaster was managed by the State Emergency Response Team.

The Division of Emergency Management said that Port Everglades is now 70% operational. The port is responsible for 40% of the state’s fuel imports.

Broward County Commissioner Michael Udine said Thursday afternoon that things are looking “much better” at Southeast Florida gas stations.

“53% of stations are good in Miami/Fort Lauderdale […] 74% of stations are good in West Palm Beach/Fort Pierce….. Trucks are rolling normally through @PortEverglades (still have a few terminals down) but supply getting out and there is gas to fill up,” he said, as the situation continuously improves.

Florida Highway Patrol of Palm Beach also uploaded video of law enforcement escorting gasoline trucks to gas stations.

DeSantis deployed support to Southeast Florida to assist in the flooding less than 24 hours after the floods worsened the late night prior.

The governor’s office slammed critics for trying to “politicize” the floods, last week noting that the “entire state emergency apparatus [was] already in action working to understand and support the needs of SE Florida.”

Read more about the state’s emergency efforts in the area here. Check with local authorities for the most up-to-date information.

I know it is cool to complain and bitch at people in authority but really, try to be positive.
