I don’t think it was a political thing the timing of the gas tax relief. See people with a functioning brain and an ability to use logic might conclude that he chose to delay the tax relief until after the vacation season was over because Floridians are going to see more relief from it now while more visitors paid the tax at the time.

You know this was done by DeSantis a few months back. To go into effect this week. What was the reason to wait? Why not have it go into effect in the summer like GA did. Why have it start now? I will hang up and listen.
I gave you the answer already. He waited until after the main vacation season was over. From a budget standpoint giving the relief over the summer would have been terrible on the state budget. Meanwhile keeping it on meant all those 100’s of thousands of tourists which come and go all summer long paid the taxes. Now kids are back in school and there are a lot fewer travelers into Florida right now so Floridians will be the ones who benefit most at this time. I know you have blind hatred for anything Republican but damn use your brain just once.
So, all the clamoring about how $4.50/gal gas prices was a huge burden on the working class was secondary to tourists paying the tax? Doesn't Florida already have a budget surplus? Shouldn't relief be given when needed most?

Well thanks to Brandon we had $5.00 gas. Could this have been done sooner? Sure. But taking .20 off gas then was a bandaid on a broken arm. Brandon’s day 1 anti-fossil fuels policy and weak stance on Putin caused this mess. .20 at the pump wasn’t the answer.
