Thanks for monitoring our board and being hyper sensitive. I don't recall saying King is as good as Woodson, I simply suggested maybe Iowa utilizes King on offense like Michigan did with Woodson his final year.

However, due to your hypersensitivity, I decided to look up Woodson's junior year stats and compare them with Kings(Woodson stats courtesy of www.sports-reference.com so don't kill me if they aren't completely accurate, but this was the only spot I could find junior Michigan stats . Here is a comparison of King and Woodson from their junior years: If accurate, not even close MichiganMan:

King: 8 INT with 14yd avg return with 1TD, 12.7 yds per punt return, 25.6 yards per kick return

Woodson: 4 INT with 7yd avg return, 5.4 yd per punt return, 20 yards per kick return

Kings junior stats are superior to Woodson's senior stats, except of course the offensive numbers.

The fact is, if King put up similar numbers on defense and special teams, and was used on offense like Woodson and happens to score a couple touchdowns, he too could be a heisman candidate, or at least would be in the conversation.

My God, you think I'M the sensitive one? Why don't you start a poll here to see if your fellow fans agree with your nonsensical direction you're going with this?

If he comes back, I think he will have about the same production as this year. The whole key is who is the other Safety with Taylor? Because if we do not have a good safety, it could be trouble.

I think if King & Ott come back this defense will be scary good. There are a lot of younger guys who got plenty of PT this year, and hopefully they continue to get better. The offense line is what scares me. I know we lose Blythe who was the anchor. it seems every year we are really good, we have a smart and dominate center. Whoever takes Blythe's spot is just as important as King and Lomax.

I am hoping losing the BTC leaves a bad taste in the mouthes of the players and they bust their butts this off-season. They can be pretty salty next year, I realize we need to replace some key positions, but there are some studs in the program who will be good.

I don't know about next year's production. I think he's going as he'll be projected 2nd round.

I do absolutely agree with you about replacing Lomax at safety. He generally did a good job in pass coverage. But, more impressively, he was a killer when it came to run support. I'm not going to say he's the second coming of Bob Sanders. But there were a few hits that he had that showed the guided missile on the field kind of play which reminded me of Bob's time at Iowa.
Lomax is a BIG loss.

Sorry, forgot the Hawks had a good year so we aren't allowed to be critical of anything. My bad.

Mabin did not play well this year and anyone who thinks he did is kidding themselves and wearing black and gold glasses. He constantly played off 9 yards off the ball (i get it part of it scheme) and would be nickeled and dimed for 14 yard in routes down the field in every game.
Telling a player that he could leave is not being critical it is being an asshole, if you do not think that is the case then you are kidding yourself. He had a little bit of a lull midseason based on a leg injury that he fought through and we won each of those games, he played lights out when it mattered and will have an opportunity to play on Sunday's....if you knew anything about the CB position you would understand that, but apparently you do not. Having a 6'2" + CB who can play the run and is hard hitting is few and far between

Most corners aren't going to look great when they have a 1st team AA on the other side and nobody throws his way.

Excellent point. Plus after rewatching Nebraska game Mabin played one of his better games. If we get Ott and King back that would be freaking awesome.

just pointing out some stats for comparison Lifer...Woodson is one of the all-time greats no doubt, but King's junior year stats stand up against Woodson's Heisman season, sans offensive production of course.

I'll echo what others have said. Anyone that thinks Mabin should leave did not watch the last few games of the season. He was outstanding and I think he will prove it again in the Rose Bowl.

Mabin really improved this year. Remember he came in as a receiver. King had his struggles last year as well in his second year as a starter. Mabin will be an NFL guy as well.

Champ is the best. A great Bronco!

He may be leaning that way now, but he hasn't received feedback about the draft yet, at least no officially.
He has heard news... he knows he might not be a first rounder...Iowa assistance can make calls...so can Ferentz..as you stated info just not official
