Dickie V. diagnosed with Lymphoma

It's a question of motivation and talent and drive. I could give you a real life assessment of what is going on in the IC/CR area but it is near dinner time and waving at sick kids who have cancer makes people feel good. So, let's leave it at that.
Lol don't tell us how you really feel or anything, Joes Place........

Cancer can have the most vague, nebulous symptoms. My mom thought she had heartburn. Turned out to be stage 4 appendiceal cancer. Gone within 2 years. One year good chemo response. One year hell on earth.

Am I the only one who thinks how much Dickie V has shared about his cancer and some of his posts are a little strange? I get it, everyone deals with these situations differently and who am I to judge. Maybe he just really needs all of our support and love. But he’s 82 years old. He’s not in his 40’s like Valvano was. Sure, he’s still a victim of cancer, it just feels like it’s not the same at his age. I won’t remember him as a victim of cancer even though it feels like that’s what he’s going for.

I think Vitale's relationship with Valvano affects his outlook a little bit. That, and he's always been one to share his life's details. A lot of people are like that. That's why Facebook and TikTok are so popular.

One of my best friends got that call in December that his PET Scan showed no cancer after 9 months of Chemo and immunotherapy. He was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer a year ago. After the positive scan they even told him the tumor had shrunk enough that they said he can go back to living a normal life (getting rid of the feeding tube) with only a yearly checkup and maybe a light Chemo.

He died last Tuesday, would have been 46 on Friday.

No offense to Dicky V but he's older than dirt. He's 82!

It's not like he's 50. He's already lived longer than most American men.

This isn't a tragedy.

Complications kill him or did it come back? Immunotherapy is doing some great stuff for some cancers.

Cancer is a tragedy at any age. Him going in his sleep and not knowing it wouldn’t be a tragedy at his age, but a slow death is a tragedy.
