Did anyone else notice the anger that Penn State coach Franklin displayed when he got the Gatorade bath after the game? You could see the anger in his face and then after rearranging his glasses he ran after one of the players. He was totally scary mad. He looked like he was going to beat the crap out of someone. Then, he was glancing away while he was being interviewed like he was trying to spot the guilty players. I've seen coaches angry before, but I have never seen one display such a temper and anger towards his own players. At halftime, when interviewed, he was mad at his QB because he hurt his ribs celebrating a TD and that was the essence of the halftime interview. I suspect the man has some serious temper, anger issues that could become violent.

He also said he was mad because his QB threw a careless INT that gave UW new life. I think Franklin's wound pretty tight and knows it's not easy to get to the top and stay there, especially with Mr. Barkley riding off into the sunset. He knows it's going to be tough next year (and every year) with O$U, MSU and UM in the same division.

The players probably calmed him down later by telling him the Gatorade shower is a PSU tradition, just like any other shower on campus.

Minus the kids.

Oh, and the rape thingy.

He was just fooling around, he's got kind of a wacky sense of humor and a pretty good poker face when doing it (witness his halftime comment about McSorley hitting him in the ribs as one of the two bad things that happened in the first half). Anyone who thinks he was genuinely mad at that player is being trolled. I'm actually beginning to like Franklin, honestly. I think college FB could use a few more characters like him (maybe less like Hasrbaugh, but more like Franklin).

He wasn’t mad about the gatorade bath; he was pissed because some of the players from each team got into a shoving match after the game and a fight almost broke out.

Franklin does like the camara. I thought the way the entered the field was funny. He has a couple of players acted like “caged lions” and he acts like he’s holding them back. I always try to picture Kirk doing some of these antics like Franklin and Fleck do.

While he is embarrassing, PSU fans have greater things to be embarrassed by than Coach Franklin. By a longshot.

I also found him to be very strange..............

Yes, PSU will look much different next year without Barkley and McSorley.

McSorley is a jr and Barkley should go pro but if he doesn't, look out. I'd put them at the top of the list to win it all in 18.

Franklin is becoming a very good coach in the B1G. Wacky, yes but he wasn't pissed at the bath at all. Some people try to create controversy where there is none.

Franklin looks like he's always on the edge (it's reflected in some of his players, like McSorley) I predict that by this time next year there will be some kind of on on-field incident involving him.

Yup, we have the only decent coach, Urban, Harbaugh, and Franklin all suck!

Matt Campbell wasn't very happy with his bath.

I believe that was because they did it right as he was approaching the other coach. Bad social awareness by the players.

*Been watching a lot of football. I believe ISU was the one that did it as coaches were meeting. Apologies if I have the wrong game in mind.

For someone so conscious of where the tv camera is... he definitely had a momentary lapse of control.

Personally, I think he's a real prick and it has nothing to do with football.

If Franklin is so aware of the cameras as some suggest, why would he put himself out there looking like he is so angry that he wants to hurt someone? I'm not saying Franklin isn't an interesting guy or that he is a bad coach, I'm suggesting that he is got a few shorted circuits going on.

Franklin is an asshat who is currently accepted because the team is producing,... Watch when things start to go south and the fans and media turn on him.... PJ Fleck clone.

This I had a friend at the game and he said 2 PSU players were shoving a couple of Washington players and people were trying to separate them. It was just a normal post game scuffle, but you saw Franklin turn in an instant.

I don't mind the guy, what he has done at PSU is pretty remarkable. I will still have to wait and see what he does w/out Barkley. That kid is something special and watching him in Iowa City earlier this year, I thought for sure he was locked for the Heisman.

Campbell was really pissed when it was done to him near the end of the Liberty Bowl game. I think it's a "tradition" that got old about 30 years ago.
