“My summation is all four of those guys would have been great fits here," Ferentz said. "So, it was just a matter of working through the process a little bit.
There's really nowhere to go than better. Just need 1 spot!honestly, who cares. It will hopefully be better than Brian.
Thousands upon thousands.honestly, who cares. It will hopefully be better than Brian.
You can always root for the clowns.Thousands upon thousands.
Then tens of thousands more…are tired of watching boring, poorly-coordinated offensive football.
Probably Chryst, Philbin, Johns, and Lester was 4th and last.Chryst
Johns
Obviously Lester.
Who's the 4th?
I was just asking based upon KF’s quote. It was rather ominous.Johns turned Iowa down?
That does not seem to be the case. Where is this coming from?
Well, I’m not a Cyclone fan, but, they tend to put an entertaining product on the field. You can always root for the clowns.
I’m pretty sure he is just saying he considered four candidates. It seems he was either the 2nd or 3rd choice.I was just asking based upon KF’s quote. It was rather ominous.
Go for it! Sign up for Cyclone Fanatic and if you have time let us know how much greener it is over there.Well, I’m not a Cyclone fan, but, they tend to put an entertaining product on the field.
The "assumption" is that Johns was an excellent candidate, so Iowa simply MUST have offered. No way to know though.Johns turned Iowa down?
That does not seem to be the case. Where is this coming from?
Sure, 18-20 the last three years. Entertaining for Iowa fans!Well, I’m not a Cyclone fan, but, they tend to put an entertaining product on the field.
Are you one of those posters that believes fans shouldn't have the right to ask for the team to improve? Edit: Should we be satisfied with the worst offense in college football?Go for it! Sign up for Cyclone Fanatic and if you have time let us know how much greener it is over there.
Nope, I can go over there too.Are you one of those posters that believes fans shouldn't have the right to ask for the team to improve? Edit: Should we be satisfied with the worst offense in college football?
I doubt 10s of thousands of even know who the OC is. The only reason many knew Brian was nepotism, and how absolutely atrocious he was as an OCThousands upon thousands.
Then tens of thousands more…are tired of watching boring, poorly-coordinated offensive football.
I believe Lester is going to show just how unqualified Brian was.Are you one of those posters that believes fans shouldn't have the right to ask for the team to improve? Edit: Should we be satisfied with the worst offense in college football?
I hope so. I am willing to give him a chance because there is no other option.I believe Lester is going to show just how unqualified Brian was.
Maybe CK was calling to ask KF when he was planning to retire. Makes no sense for him to have interest in the Iowa OC position.Weren’t John’s and Lester interviewing simultaneously?
The Chip Kelly call is really interesting. That would require a complete overhaul, not what KF was looking for but surprising none the less.
Unless they find a way to have a negative offensive rating I like Lester’s chance of eclipsing BF.honestly, who cares. It will hopefully be better than Brian.
Yeah. People making the leap from them talking, to if they talked, it must have been about CK becoming Iowa’s OC in 2024 is quite the leap.Maybe CK was calling to ask KF when he was planning to retire. Makes no sense for him to have interest in the Iowa OC position.
This is my suspicion as well.I laugh at the Chip Kelly talk as if he is going to leave fertile UCLA for Iowa and not the NFL.
I’m sure KF spoke to Chryst, Philbin, both said no then he interviewed both Johns and Lester, then decided Lester was more of a fit and went with him over offering Johns.
Right? Unless he is bored and wanted a new challenge. But highly unlikely he would take an OC role at this stage.Maybe CK was calling to ask KF when he was planning to retire. Makes no sense for him to have interest in the Iowa OC position.
I fail to see how Occam's would be applied here as there is not equal evidence. The fact it was leaked, multiple reports that it was about the OC, and the timing shows an unequal amount of evidence. You could assert that you don't believe the reports but the circumstances cannot be disproven. Besides, OC job is the simplest explanation. Suggesting other scenarios requires speculation beyond the circumstances (i.e. more complex)Yeah. People making the leap from them talking, to if they talked, it must have been about CK becoming Iowa’s OC in 2024 is quite the leap.
Occam’s Razor would put that pretty far down the list of likelihood in what their conversation was about. I suppose it’s not zero, but it doesn’t add up.
It is yearly way easier to put up bigger offensive numbers in the defenseless Big 12.Well, I’m not a Cyclone fan, but, they tend to put an entertaining product on the field.
