who has one? What about the mini genies? Finally upgrading. Going with the wireless mini genies. Hoping for more DVR storage space.
You get quite a bit more storage, minis use one tuner each (of 5). I kept my old DVR for one TV in lieu of a genie for it, so I have 2 dvrs.

I've got it, pretty easy. Can get slow though, menu-speaking. Push a button and wait some time for it to work.

DVR part of it is extremely easy and works well, plenty of storage for us.

I think DTV's on demand stuff is non-intuitive and slow. Mediacom was better at that.

Big box on the main tv runs the minis throughout the house, never had any connectivity issues with that. They hav all recordings just as fast, can record from all.

I like it.

I've got 2 dvr's and 3 mini genies and we never watch anything as its' originally shown anymore. We can record 8 shows at the same time (we don't but we can) and we have plenty of space . It's nice to watch an hour show in 35 minutes after blowing thru commercials. Don't pay for this equipment . They will give it to you.
I love DirecTV and have had them for 13 years at my current address and had them for years when I lived in Florida so I could watch the Hawks.

Have house that was fully wired with RG59. Had Mediacom driving 5 TVs. Everything was fine until we started receiving more and more content in HD. Had no end of issues with digital freezing and traffic saturation. As soon as the wireless Genie was available in Iowa City, I made the switch. Ran an RG6 run for the main DVR, have 4 wireless Genies and everything worked great out of the box. Two years later, I couldn't be happier.

Does anyone use the DirectTV app on an iPad to watch your recorded shows streaming off the genie? I can get that to work fairly well, but I can never get the shows to download to to the iPad so I can watch when not on WiFi? Anyone have any luck?
